What FOV do you play with, and on widescreen without opensauce, at 1920x1080, why does it feel so...zoomed in I suppose, is the normal FOV that you play with supposed to be 90 but for some reason at 70? I changed mine to 90, what FOV do you play with?

90 is pretty much the standard. It's amazing how much more of your peripherals you can see at 90 that you were missing at 70. However, if you're up camping somewhere with a sniper, go with like 50 for the lulz

Even the stock halo tags have that awful zoomy feel. It's the FOV, when I change it to 90 its amazing. Question, in the biped tag, there is something about FOV, if I change that, does it change it ingame, so technically you wouldn't have to use opensauce?

I never got people changing their FOV, I just play with the games standard. I think all the animations look weird with the camera to far out.

They block 20% of the screen and obscure peripheral vision which happens to be the most sensitive portion of the field of view. I guess that is why people increase the FOV to overcome poor HUD design. I'm with Masters1337, I rarely if ever change the default FOV on the games I play.

Dennis, what is your aspect ratio and resolution if I may ask? If you play in windowe mode, it isn't a problem(the weapon zoomy view) but if you play at 1920x1080 and are on a widescreen, then its awful and I have to change it.
Another question for you dennis, you actually play halo CE? Do you ever do anything with the HEK?

Like Spark said, at 1080p and widescreen, default is awful. I usually change it 90degrees, which is muccccch better imo.

I play on 16:9 90 fov so that my vertical fov matches the one you get on 4:3 70fov. I also do it to prevent myself from getting motion sickness and so that I can actually see the weapons.

I guess that is why people increase the FOV to overcome poor HUD design. I feel like this is brought up frequently. I'm curious, how would you design a halo HUD? With all of the necessary components (e.g. shields, health, ammo, radar, etc.) being shown? I feel like the Halo 3 HUD design does a decent job of displaying all of the information in a logical area while not being cluttered. If you have an improved design, I'd love to see it. The reason why I ask this is because I like hearing others complaints so I know what to look out for in future projects. Put simply, if you'd be willing to make a concept or somehow show me what you mean, I'd be willing to try to incorporate it into future projects. Edited by Pepzee on May 9, 2015 at 02:11 AM

I think its more or less of the visor outline thats annoying. I almost didnt even want it in Takedown but Jesse made is pretty transparent to where you'll forget about it almost immediately. Some other huds that visor outline removes like 1/2 the screen

One of the many reasons I hate the Halo 4 HUD.
