giveth the time I intend to make.


As for excluding weather effects from certain parts of a bsp that is basically the calling of exact portals which define specific areas of a level for halo to render items for, stuff like sounds and of course weather systems for example snow and rain.

I intend to make those to at some point after I get Halo2 working that is.


There is another way... You could set up a grid of planes with a low opacity scrolling fog texture.

Please make use of the Zteam tags, spruce them up, balance them. I will definitely enjoy this map. And don't fudge up the Battle Rifle's burst fire. It's about time we have a map with solid Halo 2 Tags. And for silly sakes don't use that old HUD, Jesse has probably released a much better version.

PC, I don't do Xbox.
the old xbox and the pc on are not one 100% the same, so you may find some things that have been moved.

Well I have the flu and I can't be bothered to upload any recent updates because my tummy hurts.

But I have incorporated most of the scenery items namely the trees and stuff into the bsp. The only scenery items which remain are cabbages and gerry the gargoyle.

I also have portals and player clipping all set up. Again no images so you will just have to believe my lies.

Unfortunately I can't get Halo2 to work properly, I've used both legal and illegal methods and the result is nada which is a big shame personally because adjutant seems to have left some textures out for example the tree canopy meshes seem to rely soley on a black material which is completely incorrect according to this video :

I don't know maybe adjutant screwed up somewhere?

Regardless it is something I want to fix before final beta alpha release.

The tree leaves in the background of this of the img above are what I am trying to add to the bsp because they were missing on the import:



They also seem to be missing in adjutant too:



What's weird is that adjutant actually lists the bump map for the texture but not the diffuse.......



I'm also missing the swamp tree line texture because whilst it is listed in the img above it doesn't show up correctly. (black tile)

Beta release files 2.

Stuff to do:

> play around with the shaders jobalisks are good but I want to see if I can match the H2 original as close as possible.

Hey all, its been a while.

I've decided to try and once again see if I cant complete this map. So stay tuned here to see the results. LIFE has been getting in the way lately but seeing as I have a few hours to kill today while I reinstall visual studio (a slow and painful experience) I thought I'd give it a shot.


HOPE YOU ALL ARE RE-READING THIS IF YOU DOWNLOADED BEFORE OR THINK YOU ALREADY READ IT ONCE

Here is a link to the latest copy of the project. Have no intention of doing any more work on it. If SS Flanker wants to that's his choice, however here is a copy of the final version I worked on. Its pretty much all there. The only issue is there is only atmospheric fog, and transparent shaders aren't working properly so the glowing fungi looks a bit weird. All in all though I'm pretty happy with how it looks. Spawns and weapons are as close to the original as possible:

Enjoy and post feedback here if you want. I may make some minor adjustments if needed.

works 100% perfectly fine on my machine. I compiled it with OS_Tool, so try running it with Open Sauce, though that shouldn't cause an issue. I'll re upload the map though just in case there was a corruption issue:

All I see are noobs who have never contributed anything to this game complaining... I have no idea why it is crashing your systems, perhaps I should get someone else to compile it. However I can assure you it is working perfectly fine on mine, are you running OS?

I'd suggest you extract the map in HEK Plus and recompile it on your computer. All the necessary files are contained within the map file.

I've given you an option on how you would play this map on your computer, as I only have 1 computer I can compile it on, this is the only option you have of playing it so if your not willing to try then GG to you. Though any helpful advice on how to stop it crashing would be appreciated none the less.

This happened to me before. It sucked because I couldn't give my friends the map to test for me.

If I remember correctly, my fix was to use a new .scenario and make sure to NOT compile with shared resources.

Try playing the game on a portable version of Halo CE, maybe you shared the wrong .map? Changed the name of it after compiling?

(I haven't actually tried it as I'm still ordering tags n stuff)

ok, I'll give that a shot. However I don't remember ever compiling with shared resources. Pretty sure I didn't share the wrong map and I know I didn't rename it. I did however resave the scenario under a new name, so I'll compile the original, try this:
