Use 3dsmax instead of that piece of garbage
Besides, the people who promote it and develop tools for it still haven't learned that the best way to keep information available and free, especially on how to solve issues, is to have a forum and not twenty different discord servers that will eventually die out without getting archived.
This is, of course, if what you're modding is Halo CE and not H3 (Dennis make a new subforum already pls)
Install CE, go to the root folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\), move the patch .exe there and run it, I'm assuming you ran it on another folder or something
Vehicle destruction isn't what you'd call "easy" but it's been doable in vanilla halo for quite some time, it involves a secret room with a vehicle in it and some scripting
Altehros lmao
I think kavawuvi/snowy/whatever he's called these days, the creator of chimera, was working on that a long while ago, try asking him
Starting with GMax is gonna make them hate 3d modelling, if you want to use freeware I'd start with something like Sketchup which is super intuitive although it generates a lot of garbage (Which can be remedied with a few plugins if you want to use it for Halo such as Solid Inspector 2, Clean Up 3, and extra cleaning on 3dsmax/gmax/blender(ew) if that's not enough)
If you're dead set on using an ancient version of an ancient crapware such as gmax though, I found this: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/gmax-12-registration-workaround
Also, maybe ask them for student licenses? A lot of companies love to give those away for free because it's an investment to have people new to the industry learn their software and not the competition's
you can upload it to mediafire or something like that and paste the link to the file here

I placed the edited tag (b30.scenario) back into the CE mod tools tags folder, tried to open it with Sapien...and it crashed again. You can imagine my frustration at this point. can you post the debug? it might also be easier to contact someone on discord and edit your post for posterity (pun unintended)

Quote: --- Original message by: RedCenturionG No offense, but I already specified in my post that I tried this and guerilla won't open either, it just gives me an error, which is also provided in my post. Did you try what I suggested?
Quote: --- Original message by: Spartan314 Halomaps will always be superior to Discord imo simply due to the ease of viewing and organization. Pins just don't do it for me Definitely, and discord doesn't get archived at all plus people can't find anything when they look for it on google so we're just heralding a new age of frustration for new people
It seems that the scripts for that map are either corrupted or too big, try to get a hold of a good copy of the .scenario and/or .hsc files
If you still can't open the scenario with guerilla try using moses editing kit's mozzarilla, open sauce's guerilla or kornmann since they can get over some of the restrictions and checks sometimes, then delete the scripting blocks so you can open the scenario on sapien and recompile the scripts
It used to be available on the windows store but that's no longer the case, you can just download it from here http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=1&sid=38 but you'll have to find a key elsewhere like ebay or other "legal" places you'd look to "buy" one If you wanna go the physical route there's a bunch of original cds on ebay too
Quote: --- Original message by: Barbie I did have the latest Halo patch. I just didn’t get how to install Chimera and HAC2.
Those are optional mods, you should still be able to see the servers as long as it was 1.0.10
Try updating it to the last version (1.0.10) I recommend you also install the HAC2 and Chimera mods, they greatly improve and modernize your playing experience

It makes me so sad that the first post on just this page is from 2015 and the second to last from 2018 Really cool render btw I thought it was a real pic of a prop for the longest time
You may have some file open, try closing everything (even steam) and recompiling. For future reference, please mention you're using the Halo 1 Anniversary Editing Kit because it has different errors to Gearbox' Halo CE Editing Kit and you may have trouble searching for info on forums and stuff like that since it came out not long ago
Can you post the entire message? That's just part of the exception data but not the actual error
I really wish the forum was still active but I understand people just don't want to post here especially with the spam and dennis having to approve every message individually due to a lack of time for moderating oh well there's always modacity :^)
Go to tags\globals\globals.globals on guerilla and scroll down to the multiplayer information block (about 75% of the way down), then to vehicles, and switch one of the first six vehicles in the dropdown with the one you want to spawn in your map. If you don't do that, it will only spawn if you create it with scripting and you'll need to do some trickery to get it to sync properly.
