Guyz recommend me something. PC (I want to build it) somewhere around or less than $1500. My current Dell is fine but by the time I actually get enough money for a 1500 computer I might need a new one. The probably with my Dell is that it really isn't upgradable. The only thing I think I could honestly recover from it that wouldn't be outdated is (maybe) the harddrive and the bluray drive.
Things it must have: USB 3.0 (I currently lack) Something that works with 2 monitors (I never game with 2 monitors but I do edit and run a lot of programs on 2 monitors) I don't really understand Nivida graphic cards so if you could please explain them to me if thats recommended. AMD I understand the numbering.
Just something that's decent priced.
Edited by MatthewDratt on Jun 2, 2014 at 11:52 PM When are you going to get $1500? If it's not until next year, recommending components to you now would be pointless. There have been big advancements, that'll be seen more next year, in harddrives, graphics cards, USB 3.1, DisplayPort, HDMI(kinda), and even memory might see some big boosts. There's also the possibility of SATA Express being released next year in some form, but I don't think there's any certainty on that. Probably the end of this year. Just looking into things now. Could someone explain processors a bit more to me. Intel has 4 core processors at 3.7ghz but AMD has 6 cores for 4.0ghz for like the same price. I'm guessing there is more than just those two numbers that make a CPU what it is, but what exactly since everyone is saying Intel CPUs are so much better? And yes, I'd keep my BluRay drive. -------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway my current rig: Hardware Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Edited by OHunterO on Jun 3, 2014 at 02:59 PM Because like it or not, it's better. It's more stable, fast, consumes less resources, improves games performance... you can gain up to 10 fps just by using W8.1, if you don't like the metro UI you can allways install a 3rd party program. Ive had no problems with Windows 7, best version I have ever used. I have used Windows 8, don't like it, too fiddly.

Matthew Dratt, you previously asked what's the differnce between AMD's 8 cores at 4GHz and Intel's 4 cores at 3.7Ghz. To be honest, they are both equall.. AMD is not really using 8 cores, 4 of them are virtuall, they don't physically excist. Intel has a standart 4 core, which are the best quads over AMD'S. If your budget can afford it, Intel all the way. If not, AMD is just as good, but with slight loss in performance. Edited by AlekosGR on Jun 4, 2014 at 02:00 AM

I assume you're gonna keep the Blu-Ray drive, so you won't need to buy that. Overall, this adds up to about 1,165$ without tax, but I feel like I'm forgetting something. You would have only used over 3\4 of your budget with this :o
You'd also want to make sure all your components work together well.
Maybe you can get even more betterer parts. Indeed.

Is an SDD really worth it? Im on a harddrive now and it's fine. I'd rather spend my money on a 2 or 3TB harddrive than get a 200gb sdd. 1TB is not enough for me with all my raw files I keep around.
