That is one of the stupidest and most ignorant things ever written in this forum by far.

Probably just me but never really got onboard with the concept of an SSD. Sure, it's gonna be legacy hardware by the time it finally dies, but just that element of not possible, but guaranteed failure is a huge turnoff to me.

whereas just treat your hdd like the queen bit** it is and chances are you won't run into catastrophic data loss.

Ahh good eye. I would really like a 3tb harddrive though even if it is more money. I use space like crazy and although 3tb might sound like a lot to people I can easily go through 1tb in a few months and sometimes I just wipe my harddrive because I have too much crap on it.

Truetrue. The reason I'm building a computer is so I can upgrade it. My dell has all those flat screws (I forgot the name right now...) but essentially I can't recover crap from it. I almost couldnt get my bluray drive in and even though there is a 2nd disk drive, unless I use brute force, I wouldn't be able to get another drive in there thanks to Dell. What I would like is something I could let sit for 2-5 years and not worry about it too much. Maybe upgrade something here or there if needed.

I'd hate to lose 3 gb of data.

Looks good to me at first glance, though I'm curious as to why you're bothering with liquid cooling for your CPU when your graphics card is going to be louder and will produce more heat than the CPU could anyway?

Oh and after you build it, you might want to consider partitioning that HDD in case you ever want to dual boot Linux or something

I would have stuck with the evga 780 since evga does it right, although I would increase the power supply slighty for more use after age

also I would upgrade windows 7 to professional for ram support reasons, just incase you decide to upgrade past 16 gb in your video making/map making life

also what happened to the cpu liquid cooler?

I know it is a bit more but hell if I saved up for more power, im sure you can too

After doing research the R9 290 isn't that bad compared to a 780, especially when overclocked. When changing, I save $100 and can use that on other parts. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-290-review-benchmark,3659-8.html Data here. The R9 290 is equal or maybe even slightly better in most cases. And for $100, that's a deal.

A neat little trick you can use, buy everything from the japs.

It should come out to maybe 100 - 200 dollars cheaper. After import fees.

I worked it out, in todays market to build dratts dream it would cost me around.........£700 - £1000.

And to import the parts from jap land, it be £500 - £750, having said that compatibility maybe an issue with certain parts since they have arrived from a different region. And plus there is no guarantee what you pay for will turn up.

Yeah.

GTX Titan Black Edition at the moment, though that's just two 780 Tis shipped on a single PCB and it's wildly cost inefficient.

So really the best *single* card would be either the 780 or R9 290X, depending on who you ask (and the depth of their pocketbook).
