Colour me surprised Jesse. I expected you to have fancier rig than that.
I would show you my rig, but I don't think you want to see it atm. I moved stuff around, and now wires are literally looped around my PC. I need to do a serious sort out.
(Oh, and having your rig in your bedroom is cool, right?)

The Storage is SSD btw as my OS drive, which is why the capacity is so low. The 750's are pretty cool btw, super compact and very low power consumption (no need for 6 pin psu connector). Ram requirements have gone up for vidya games lately, gunna get another stick here soon though. Edited by Waffles on Jun 2, 2014 at 01:08 AM Maybe when I find a good deal. (Oh, and having your rig in your bedroom is cool, right?) My literal desktop (the actual desk) is old as dirt, and it came from IKEA, so you know it wouldn't last too long anyway. That's why it's mis-colored and chipped :( My dad uses my desktop for some of his stuff too, that's why there is a documents rack there for him. If I could have it better, I'd totally get a fancy Razer gaming keyboard, a new desk, a better router\modem\wifihub, and probably a new chair. I forgot to mention also, that my laptop technically has two graphics processors, the Nvidia 860m, and the integrated 4600 intel processor (haswell). the Intel graphics can handle Halo CE custom maps pretty easy, I get a minimum of 45 FPS in foundry, but mostly it's 60.

Guyz recommend me something. PC (I want to build it) somewhere around or less than $1500. My current Dell is fine but by the time I actually get enough money for a 1500 computer I might need a new one. The probably with my Dell is that it really isn't upgradable. The only thing I think I could honestly recover from it that wouldn't be outdated is (maybe) the harddrive and the bluray drive.
Things it must have: USB 3.0 (I currently lack) Something that works with 2 monitors (I never game with 2 monitors but I do edit and run a lot of programs on 2 monitors) I don't really understand Nivida graphic cards so if you could please explain them to me if thats recommended. AMD I understand the numbering.
Just something that's decent priced.

Also, since your budget can afford it, an i5/i7 would be the best choise to combine with a Nvidia card. And i5 4xxx would be fantastic. The 8350 8 core AMD I suggested above is much better, but needs an extra colling fan, and power consuption is preety high. You choose!

Just something that's decent priced. Edited by MatthewDratt on Jun 2, 2014 at 11:50 PM For the processor, just anything intel really. AMD's been slacking and buying anything from them is essentially an investment into a 3(?) year old socket at this point. I personally recommend the i5 quads as they tend to keep up with the best of the graphics cards without breaking a sweat, but you really can't go wrong unless you decide Extreme Edition is a good purchase (it's not lol). For the graphics cards, I think nVidia's at their 800 series atm, so that's 840 850 860 870 880 And ti versions of some of em. AMD's current lineup is rebrands of last year's with some minor optimizations - that's the 260X 270X 280X 290X If you ask me I'd go AMD just because you get more bang for your buck when wattage isn't an issue. Some people prefer nVidia cuz of the proprietary tech they support by default (though AMD does have Mantle as a thing now). It's all really subjective. Intel's current socket is LGA1150, and the motherboards come in the primary flavors of h81, b85, h87, & z87. There are some higher end ones after that but those are going to be your primary considerations unless SLI/Crossfire is something you want to do. h81 is baseline consumer, b85 is a business model with some extra doohickeys (I'd really compare it to a neutered z87) and h87 is h81 again with some extras thrown in. None of these can overclock. If you want to do that you'd need to get a z87 or above. And holy sheet are these things expensive, like in the 200s. But if you've got an overclockable intel chip anything else is really dumb. Also, between micro ATX & full ATX isn't that big of a difference. Really just a couple more slots, but if this is gonna be a 1500 build that you want to last a while the latter is the way to go, especially if it's a z87 chipset or higher. You want at the very least 8gb of RAM for the stuff I know you do, naturally DDR3, though there isn't exactly a standard for speed. People say their systems go like a baby's smooth butt on 1600 Mhz but I can't tell the difference between 1333 and it myself. For you and your prospective applications I recommend taking a look at price per meg between the two speeds and making a decision off of that. Don't pay out of your arse for 'gamer' memory if the difference is like 60 bucks when you go to buy lol PSU, just get something with 500 or above, modular if you like to be organized. Corsair, Seasonic and Thermaltake are pretty decent brands. Try to get something with 80+ Certification - that's basically the non-crappy seal of approval. Case...eh. Depends on what you're looking for. Something flashy? Something smooth? Coolermaster has the best airflow by far with their HAF series, but Lian Li arguably has the best quality cases made of aluminum (not NECC & plastic). And let's not forget Rosewill bringing up the rear with their affordable lineup, or Antec's plain yet functional designs & NZXT's super-stylish models. Remember that only mid-towers and above can handle full ATX mobos (:I)

A 750ti isn't even as good as a GTX 660 (OC), but it is nice. He can afford 16GB RAM. Let's assume you get the money in one year, the parts that are on the mid - higher end will probably be cheaper (technically "outdated") but not irrelevant. 16GB RAM:130$ http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10/dp/B006EWUO22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401771486&sr=8-1&keywords=16GB+ram 256GB SSD (for OS and most used video games) 120$ http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-2-5-Inch-Height-SDSSDHP-256G-FFP/dp/B00APEG8NO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401771563&sr=1-3&keywords=256GB+SSD 1 TB HDD (for storage and your video editing): 55$ http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000DM003/dp/B005T3GRNW/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401771624&sr=1-2&keywords=1+terabyte+hard+drive Motherboard (picked a random one that may or may not fit, has many slots and USB 3.0): 150$ http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboard-Motherboards-Z87-G45-GAMING/dp/B00D12OBEU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401771761&sr=1-1&keywords=computer+motherboard Computer Case (picked a decent price point) 60$ http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-HAF-912-Computer/dp/B00BCXF6O4/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401771849&sr=1-7&keywords=computer+case Graphics card (went with nvidia because I understand their numbers) 350$ - 410$ First link is the 4GB model at 410$ because you will be using multiple monitors, but I also included the second link which is the 2GB model in case you won't use the monitors for gaming/ http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-04G-P4-3774-KR/dp/B00E5AEIKE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401771967&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+770+3gb http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SuperClocked-Graphics-02G-P4-2774-KR/dp/B00CZIQXBA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1401772078&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+770 Processor is intel, unless you prefer AMD. Overall, this adds up to about 1,165$ without tax, but I feel like I'm forgetting something. You would have only used over 3\4 of your budget with this :o You'd also want to make sure all your components work together well. Maybe you can get even more betterer parts. Edited by MatthewDratt on Jun 2, 2014 at 11:52 PM When are you going to get $1500? If it's not until next year, recommending components to you now would be pointless. There have been big advancements, that'll be seen more next year, in harddrives, graphics cards, USB 3.1, DisplayPort, HDMI(kinda), and even memory might see some big boosts. There's also the possibility of SATA Express being released next year in some form, but I don't think there's any certainty on that.

When someone has a 1500$ budget, it doesn't mean that he has to spend them all. The rig I suggested is the best (cheap and powerfll). With the money saved, he can buy a more decent monitor, headset, gaming mouse/keyboard OR even a soundcard.
