There is no way you made that HUD. The weapon interface maybe, cause the meter and numbers are way off, but I think the rest was made by chocolate thunda.

I don't get why everyone hates on OS.

-It breaks Xfire. That's right, Xfire came out first therefore OS breaks IT. I think the reasoning is that Xfire uses "hooking" which coincidentally is the same crappy method they use, and only one is allowed at a time. Good old Modacity logic here, ladies and gentlemen.
---latest OS works fine with xfire
-It breaks by itself with the only solution being to reinstall everything. That's so intuitive!

-It adds great functionality such as... bump mapping? That's about it really. Postprocessing can be done with other programs already (ones that don't randomly break and work along with Xfire), and the other features of OS don't really stand out. Anim perms and boardable bipeds? Wow who cares. Fix some real issues like AI syncing or netcode, while you're reinventing the game's binaries.
---added features, more flexibility
-OS is splitting the already dwindling community even further. Unless non-OS users "upgrade" to OS, they can't play many of the newer levels that decide to include OS for utterly stupid, nonessential benefits.
---what is your argument?
-OS is being made by people who can't even bother to hang out here at HaloMaps, just at Modacity. Why they think Modacity is more relevant to Halo CE than HaloMaps is, who the hell knows. Further the to point, check out OS's main website. Can anybody, based on the website, tell me exactly what OS is, by definition? Apparently OS is a series of projects. Wow, knowing that, I really want OS!
---because modacity has less trolls and more constructive criticism
-Only when somebody speaks rudely of OS will it's devs crawl out of darkness and finally explain the facts about OS that should have been more publicly available in the first place. Kornman, I don't use any of your tools because they always break somehow and you're nowhere to be seen with the solution or updates/patches. I dislike your mentality and I laugh at the software you design as it consistently breaks for the stupidest reasons.
---the fact that he shared them at all was a big risk
-Go read some threads where the lovely people of Modacity explain their thinking behind map protection or >= Halo 3 extraction tools. Do you really want their furry-loving code on your computer?
---what is your argument?

why do you (and many other people here) act so volatile?

1. OS is now compatible with Xfire.
2. I've never had to re-install everything
3. Let's see you do VISR mode with another post-processing plugin. Boardable bipeds allow us to make Assassinations, which I would like to see a non-OS-user make. FP animation perms allow one to make a map much more realistic and feel more like a Professional Halo Game, for it is subtle things like that which really make a huge difference.
4. The only thing I see here is laziness. You're too lazy to get off your fat ass and download and install it.
5. Modacity came out first. And on the website there are example videos that should give those of us with half a brain a clue as to what it does.
6. Kornman has done more for this community than you EVER will.
7. WTF are you blabbing about now?

"Modacityfags".

Wow.

You sound like one of those 6-year-olds you find in COD who thinks they're all that.

It's true, silly :p

--Yup, replace an obscure hooking method up with an EVEN MORE obscure one, dinput8(seriously, an INPUT injection for VIDEO and external SCRIPTING effects?)
--While it added almost a hundred new usable commands to halo, none of them show much love to multiplayer mappers, only singleplayer ones
--Yeah okay...
--The only time Kornman ever logs onto halomaps is mostly to talk crap to people, rarely to actually post an update
--I protect maps by making the orginization sooooo bad that it ruins your tags folder if you rip any of it, screw encryption

and NO: I don't mean I put all of my shader environments in the root tags folder, I actually do crazy things like purposely hide needed bitmaps in the sounds folder or in a level that doesn't use them, i've even hidden gbxmodels and a weapon in the rasterizer folder with their .weapon and .scenery in the putput folder

Wow. How old are you? You never give any compliments or constructive criticism, it just seems like all you ever do is put people down and act like you're the biggest kid on the block. Well, guess what? Some people here have these things called "lives" and they don't spend them starting crap on a web forum. I simply asked why people don't like OS and you raged and started a flame war.

Aww.... thanks :)

That really helps alot.

I guess I shall have to type more articulately for the next four posts that I make.

EDIT> To be even more on-topic, I came here to say I hope this map plays as good as it looks, though I'm still a little let down that the only time I've ever seen an HD remake of the DESERT version of bloodgulch resides in other game engines.

Agreed, it's not worth it anymore. The police officer thing just kinda ruined it for him. I am not continuing this fight anymore.
Now, back on topic: I think the jetpack looks nice, but shouldn't it remain in 1st person view?

also, is the grass fixed (as in, how they all faced the same direction)

looking further into your pics, the trees in the background should either be removed, or made denser, while mixing in some bushes and vines to add realism

1. OS is now compatible with Xfire.
Says who?
Im playing the game (with OS installed of course) with Xfire and Steam opened..
2. I've never had to re-install everything
Lucky you. Many other aren't as lucky.
not me.. i never reinstalled Halo..
Says who?
i never seen a post-process plugin that allows you to use VISR, have you?
i never seen FP Perms around without OS, have you?
i never seen working boarding features on vehicles/bipeds
Assassinations it's possible without OS.. but not sure if it work on MP..

4. The only thing I see here is laziness. You're too lazy to get off your fat ass and download and install it.
Right, the problem here is that I won't get the optional software "upgrade". The problem has nothing to do with it's incompatibility with non-OS users. /sarcasm
then.. what's the problem?
5. Modacity came out first. And on the website there are example videos that should give those of us with half a brain a clue as to what it does.
Modacity came out first? What?
yes.. it actually came out first..
6. Kornman has done more for this community than you EVER will.
That's your asshole opinion. Whereas the fact his Kornman's applications usually fail with great consistency.
... alright! at least Kornman release what he do..
7. WTF are you blabbing about now?
You asked first, crybaby.
...

stop pretending that you know everything please..

Also.. i was out of this forums the last few weeks.. and the first thing i notice when i check this site again is your comment..

god.. this community has become stupid.. i miss the old days..

if os sucks then don't depend on it in foundry and just delete some stuff instead of turning to it to go above the tag space limit or better yet go use tool_pro sure your map may crash here and there but at lease you wont have to use "useless' os right.
