I was once a noob. I tried getting my tagset folder to work, but tool would never compile bloodgulch because it was gey. (It was cause I didn't extract bitmaps) Tell me about your noob experience, how you deleted your tagsets in a rage and reinstalled HEK all over again because your tags were 'messed up' and wouldn't compile. Or how tool always gave you errors, even though you swore you had all the tag files downloaded in your maps folder D: Or how you could snipe people with the pistol. Or the first time you changed a sniper rifles projectile to a deadly plasma grenade and sniped grunts in the campaign to watch them run around. Hi guy is a good example of change. He was once a super noob (it's hard to believe someone could be that way) http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=8426 But now look at him! He and his team created Lumoria! Quite a change if you ask me :o Show me your first bloodgulch release. Your first AI map. Do it!

I started with Gmax modeling and never got excited over modding stock maps.... So I modded other people'z maps instead when I was a wee mapper. I still haven't ever released something 100% my own... But my first map was this piece of bacon ---> http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6299But I made that after a year of experience with this engine. But my first MIP (mungaloyd in progress) was in a thread... Never got that far. ---> http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=40062LEL EDIT: I had another account where I was an even bigger cheese dipp. Username "hobbet" or "Hobet" Idk which one. I posted almost everyday since I signed up so it's kind of hard to remember how I was.
It's only been year or two since I joined.

I've always been a very negative person, and that made my earlier posts very annoying. If I felt bad about how simple something was when I release, I would make my post completely negative, and it would make other people feel bad. Now a days, I make sure my posts look acceptably happy, even when I'm hunting someone down lol ( << Gotta love the use of 'lol' to make yourself look less srs. You can say something completely rude, and then toss "*shrug* lol" and its all better. I would never even contemplate laughing out loud, yet I still use it almost all the time.)

2003 - got halo pc
2004- found out about halo ce by looking for h2 mods for halo pc and did modding for halo pc
2005- played halo ce and modded halo pc (couldent figure out how to use HEK because sapein kept crashing at start)
2006 - finally figured out sapien, released a map called "Gulch 3" and made first map with 3ds max called Snow Rush
2006- early 2007 - did the madness sp series
2006-2009 - misc projects, delta halo, did a lot of porting and left CE with the release of Wet Dunes
2012 - returned and working on a serious project.

Funny thing is, some guy on youtube tried to impersonate me as the map creator. I wouldn't mind today though, this makes me cringe.

I remember when my boy "Goldy830" was a noob.
Luckily I took him under my wing, and now he makes mighty fine mods / maps for his events.
Another great improvement over time. :) Edited by Nickster5000 on Apr 28, 2013 at 06:40 PM

I did have to engage in quite a bit of mentoring; it sounds preposterous I know, but there was a time when you needed assistance. Truthfully, I know I made the right choice in mentoring you. :-)
