Hi. I'm the guy who said "basically, it's CMT SPV3 lite for non-OS users" and seeing this being mentioned in one of the posts is pretty funny. No, I wasn't criticizing the mod. Or at least, I was kinda skeptical, but after browsing through this entire thread... No way.

CMT SPV3 is, in my definition, a cheap knockoff of Halo Reach with Halo 1 maps remixed. There's some interesting gimmicks in some of the levels like zero gravity in "Pillar of Autumn" and all the side-objectives in "Halo", but after that... Come on. It's the same Halo Reach gameplay I've been playing for more than 6 years straight. I just completed Halo Reach a week ago for the 8th time on Legendary solo. I'm even considering gamer suicide with the Mythic difficulty. Why would I play a Halo Reach with Halo 1 maps knockoff when I could be playing this, a.k.a Call of Battle Halo Effect Wars 3 : Reach Evolved : Extended Director's Cut? All of that without needing to optimize all my rig to run Open Sauce and then running the game at either a PowerPoint framerate, a Nintendo 64 visual or peasant performance? Seriously. As polished as CMT SPV3 is in terms of overall design and execution (because, it looks AND feels like an AAA game), I feel like SPV3 tries to be too safe by JUST being Halo 1 with Halo 3-esque maps with Halo Reach/4-esque gameplay. This tries forward and dangerous and I appreciate the hard effort. Wildlife, awesome weapons, badass vehicles and so much more. And on top of that, all of this being made by a smaller team than CMT. I can't wait to put my hands into this mod. As a matter of fact, after reading this thread, I re-installed Halo Custom Edition. LITERALLY! I'm not kidding! And now that I re-installed it, I'm preparing my body for this awesomeness by playing my other favorite Halo Custom Edition campaign mod : CMT SPV1. And when I'm done with it, I'm gonna find something else to furiously masturbate on to until this releases.

So, with that out of the way (I hope someone doesn't get offended with my opinion, as typical by internet dwellers), now for three questions, yes, THREE, the three used in Half-Life 3 :
1.Will there be more weapons with secondary firing modes, like the Assault Rifle Grenade Launcher? You don't need to tell me WHAT weapons, you can just say "there's more". Or not.
2.Are there new textures for the environment and new music as well?
3.RELEASE DATE WHEN??

That's all I wanted to say. Good luck with the project, I'm really looking forward to it. When this releases, no matter what happens during that day, I'm just gonna play this mod all day and film it to YouTube no matter what.

It comes when it comes. It can't be forced or persuaded just be patient.

I'm glad that someone understood the difference between this project and SPv3 (though I'm part of both lol). SPv3 has its own sandbox, while my mod puts a different twist on the stock sandbox and offers something new even for those who don't have OS. And that's the strongest aspect of the mod.

To answer your questions:

1) Of course there are other weapons with alternate firing modes
2) I have changed almost everything in the original campaign. Environment textures and music included
3) Hopefully mid-May

LOL I noticed that the videos you filmed with the mod are pretty low in quality and framerate. That wasn't enough to keep me uninterested in watching the videos though. Heh, I remember the days when I had a really, REALLY bad laptop and still used Hypercam, running things at 5FPS (literally) at 480p. Time flies. Well, when your mod comes out, I can try to run it at 720p solid 30FPS at 16:9 on YouTube. That depends in the level of detail your mod has, though. Currently, while testing Halo CE on FRAPS with CMT SPV1, I didn't find ONE problem, either while recording or after recording (because the framerate is better when recorded than while recording, for example, you can play a section at 25FPS but the recorded footage goes at 30FPS). Meanwhile I'll see if I can kill some time with CMT SPV1 (I'm still on the "Halo" level, because I'm starting from scratch on Legendary) and friends at school. No pressure, because I know there's no dead-line here. And while doing that, I'm also testing FRAPS with Halo CE. Which is good enough I guess.

Anyway, thanks for answering my questions! Usually mod authors get pretty pissed off when they're asked questions so it's nice to see someone nice around. It's such a shame Halo 2 never had the Custom Edition treatment Halo 1 did, because if it did, I would've loved to see what you would've done with Halo 2.

I don't understand people's dislike or difficulty installing OS.

It gives modders way more tag space, among other thing; its not even hard to install. I've had more problems installing AAA EA games bought legitimately on my computer than OS.

I think the negativity drawn by the issues of installing OS pertained to older products. 4.0 is pretty stable at the mo though.

Worst campaign in the series? I loved Halo Reach! It's my favorite campaign aside of Halo 1 and ODST. The co-op was amazing, there were LOTS of easter eggs and the story was awesome. Not to mention that you can customize your character. I loved ODST as well. Look, I'm sorry if I was too harsh, I'm not saying your mod is bad. It's not and it's fantastic. But I feel like it's not surprising. All the weapons act exactly like you think they do, all the enemies act exactly like you think they do, there's no unpredictability. On the other hand, I loved, LOVED, the "Noble" mode in TSC:E, where Cortana speaks gibberish and there's even enemy Spartans. I think THAT kind of stuff is actually cool. And the map design is pretty awesome. But the gameplay is the same stuff I've been playing for half a decade. Halo Reach will have it's 6 year anniversary in a few months, just to tell you how time flies. I still remember the feel of me pushing down that pre-order button and then getting the game two days later on release. And then exploring Reach on Legendary for the first time in that same day. That was 6 years ago. If the purpose of your mod is to be merely a blend of Halo gameplay elements, then you achieved it, and I'm sadly not the audience. Still think that VISR mode looks cool though.

I couldn't due to other stuff I'm involved in. But it was not for this project, so there's no place for it here

UGC is not rated by the ESRB, even if soi added huge amounts of sex and messed up stuff to make it like AO or something, like I said, UGC is not dealt with by the ESRB.

Why are you going out of your way to get a mod rated?

Based on the information they have put out, they only deal with games and apps.

I'm not trying to be funny. I'm being sincere. This is what I actually think of this. I'm actually complementing this. If anyone finds the cover offensive or anything, please report to Tumblr and call the army of femi-nazis. Originally, I was gonna just copy-and-paste a random Gears of Halo Theft Auto 5 cover, but then I said "what the heck, this looks nothing like SOI's mod! This is cheap and it's lame! I gotta MLG-ify this!" and so I did!

Don't worry, it's banned for sales. People will still download the mod legally for free anyways. But here's the countries, never the less :

Iran : Mod was banned because some aliens do not have their full clothes on.

Republic of Ireland : Mod was banned because of mass murder of aliens.

Italy : Mod was banned because of blood and gore.

Japan : Mod was banned because they couldn't figure how to edit your mod for censoring.

Malaysia : Mod was banned because of the Spartan Laser.

Mexico : Mod was banned because of too many people attempting to quit jobs to play the mod.

New Zealand : Mod was banned because you can shoot marines in the balls.

Pakistan : Mod was banned because you can throw grenades.

Philippines : Mod was banned because they fear the use of the mod by terrorists for training.

Russia : Mod was banned. No reasons were specified, maybe it's because they want to sell it.

4th edit : Alright, I went around the internet to search for the most unoptimized, obnoxious and hardware straining Custom Edition vanilla campaign maps to test with FRAPS, until I found what I wanted. What I found was a huge campaign mod by some user ANTRAX, with a boatload of new high quality textures, a lot of new high quality models ripped straight from Halo 3, Reach and 4, and almost nothing new that's actually fun (outside of the Concussion Rifle which is bugged, so it's basically Quake's Rocket Launcher ported to Halo, so you can rocket jump to the end of the universe with it). To my surprise, my stuped laptop was able to run the game surprisingly good, even with FRAPS. A 720p/30FPS video is easily reachable and at no point the framerate even blinked, and if it did, it wouldn't be caught by the recording software. So, I heavily presume that playing your mod with it shouldn't be a problem. All of that, with max settings. It's only capped at 720p 30FPS because my laptop screen isn't a 1080p screen, but rather a 1366x768 screen, and, honestly, in my opinion, having 30FPS animations at a 60FPS image is just plain awkward, and it also means a fluctuating framerate between 60FPS to 20FPS, unlike when I use the 30FPS cap which keeps it in a constant 30FPS.
