I'm surprised no one's copied my name yet. It'd be real easy since I'm not here lately...

Level up your Ego and Arrogance to 100, then put as many skill points as you can into "Pointless Arguments" and "Petty Attacks".

Hopefully soon, I know moot and kirby are still working on polishing the bsps, and there has been significant progress in terms of shaders.

Same here man.
We managed to fix one of two GLSL shaders that were working on ATI graphics cards, but weren't compiling on Nvidia cards. Funny how both vendors have different shader compilation rules, I'll tell ya!

Still no takers to be our go to sound guy? We're going to be needing all marine dialog ingame. Plus someone who can dedicate themselves to importing all the music for levels 01, 03 and 05.

Even if you can only do one levels music, or one of the marines, it would be extremely helpful. We're making good progress on Delta (almost 3/4th of the map are error free!), and we have other people beginning to clean up Old Mombasa and Cairo.

I may be able to help you out with the music. First off, which levels are you talking about? According to the Halo wiki, levels 1, 3, and 5 are The Armory, Outskirts, and The Arbiter. Also, do you need any work done with the tracks besides getting them into tag form?

Cairo, Outskirts/Metropolis and Delta Halo/Regret. We'd just need them put into tag form properly. So properly compiled (44khz, stereo, ogg) and tagged and put into loops. Kirby did some music a while ago, but it's not working ingame, although I have yet to look at it in detail. PM your contact info (or xfire me, username is masters1337) and I can send you over what we have.

Silencing you is pretty easy.

Trying to make you have a little more patience is bit harder.

people should behave properly, especially on the internet...

Step 1: Click their profile and review all their recent posts.
Step 2: Look for patterns in their posting ethics and behavior.
Step 3: Derive what their intentions likely are.
Step 4: Decide whether making any sort of comment toward this person would be constructive in any way.

Your welcome.

You should take your own advice :)

I have a question; will the Arbiter's levels also be done after the Chief's are complete?

There are no plans to do so. The Arbiter missions IMO are all fundamentally flawed, and don't present gameplay I'd be interested in doing. Plus there is a ton of animation and sound work that would have to be done for them. I'm pretty sure that the arbiter missions are actually converted Chief missions (gas giant and quarantine zone in particular) that were turned into Arbiter missions after something went wrong with the games development.

but beating people to death with a broken sword handle was fun, truly you cannot say that is flawed

Of course the arbiter levels weren't flawed, they are among the most awesome levels ever. But at least he's using "imo" now in his posts, progress!

So I'll separate things into good and bad

The Good
We have cleaner extraction tools now!
A near flawless version of bsp 03 for delta is in game.
Moot has started playing with Cairo, since one person can only look at Delta for so many months.
A rough build of the first old mombassa BSP is ingame.
Old Mombassa has a hook if we ever want to include a new area for the CMT version.
We have all the H2 scenarios extracted and are working on a way to automate the process of the transfer of objects that use x yz i j k co-ordinates

The Bad
BSPs still take a while to get ported over
It will be impossible to ever port the encounters from a h2 tag to a h1 tag, its a totally different system and there are up to 62 firing positions per zone in h2, far more than we could use in h1.

Well you would think if we can automate the process of copying the values of the x y z for scenery, why would that differ than AI?. The truth is, if H1 supported more than 26 identifiers for a firing point, we could quote easily port things over. Or if we had a way to consolidate and split the firing positions. But since there isn't a full version of H2 Sapien, its impossible to view there locations and understand these values.

If you'd like, I can volunteer to do the encounters over the Easter Break (Australian Holidays).

If you have time, I'd love to get working on that other thing we talked about. It's my spring break this week so I could do some sketches for you.

Mattdraft actually re-wrote the scene to not include the Arbiter. I talked to him a while back about if he'd like to handle that cutscene, but now the Gravemind mission has been pushed as a lower priority for a number of reasons, mostly concerning the .map and inability to do a classic version of the map.

If this is too successful (people play/buy CE for the H2 campaign), would Microsoft decide to cease and desist?
