Mattdraft actually re-wrote the scene to not include the Arbiter. I talked to him a while back about if he'd like to handle that cutscene, but now the Gravemind mission has been pushed as a lower priority for a number of reasons, mostly concerning the .map and inability to do a classic version of the map.

Excuse me if I sound too intrusive, but are there going to be any other significant differences between CMT's remake of that level and the original?

So, how do you plan on doing the cutscene with the Gravemind?

I'd actually be willing to do the Arbiter missions.

I appreciate the offer, but its really something as a whole we can't focus on yet.

Classic is all stock content (except some phantoms), while the CMT versions use the CMT sandbox. Old Mombasa had a hook in it so if possible I'd like to see the MP maps district and turf reused for a small added segment.

I see, and what about the Scarab? I'm interested in how that would work out too.

be nice if they'd make it similar to a halo 3 scarab battle, the sandbox in that encounter was restrictive in the original halo 2 game, kinda anti climactic. In fact, the whole second half of that level was a let down compared to the e3 demo version of that level. I'd like to see a large scale city battle similar to e3 2003 with an intense climactic scarab battle at the end.

Not expecting this to happen, but a man can dream! *stares starry eyed off into the distance*

If they were to do it the H2 way, it'd most likely be a device machine. The AI exiting out onto the top of the scarab would most likely follow command-lists that avoid pathfinding.

I know how you feel. I liked Halo 2, but I was very disappointed that it didn't turn out like its E3 counterpart.

They might be able to pull it off, although doing something like that would be hard, even with OS.

One thing we can count on (that Masters1337 already blatantly suggested), is that these guys will compensate for the disappointment we faced there.

And btw, I wonder if they'll include the Scarab gun in New Mombasa, and if they'll let us ride the Pelican there. Although, I doubt that (when it stops), it will start flopping around like in the actual Halo 2, and I know Masters (or whoever is programming the string entries) won't put "Press E to flip Banshee" in there.

Most likely the CMT SPV3 Spartan.

Redoing the Mark VI will create even more delays.

I'm sure everybody has some desire for those maps to be completed ASAP (with adequate time to polish everything).

In my honest opinion, I think Dano should redo the UVWs and retexture Nugget's model. It has great potential, but Scooby's textures for it don't make due.

example of potential with a really bad unfinished texture (and horrid shaders):

Actually for this, I imagine we'll end up using the H2 Chief because we need the rig for the cutscenes.

Most likely there will be a new high res Chief model for CMT. However, it's on the backburner compared to a lot of other things that need done.

So, how's the battle with the Prophet of Regret going to go? Is he going to work similar to a Sentinel and will his chair be part of his entire model and the biped tag?

Yeah he's all one object.

Progress has been slow so to speak as CMT duties have taken over for a bit, while everyone gets certain things in order. We have something really cool to show soon though. We will post it soon as we can.

Cool, but no need to rush though. Although most on here (who've been doing this for more than a few years) know this by now probably, rushing a project like this will get negative results. I screwed up on my map projects because of trying to speed up the progress.

Now announcing our change in direction!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_btSLYkTUI

We know how much everyone cares about the Arbiter and Flood. This Glorious April Day, we're proud to announce our change in direction towards Arbiter and Flood, completely ignoring Delta Halo.

All those times Masterz said that we weren't interested in the arbiter, he was trolling you. When he posts in CMT threads that nobodies working on flood, hes lying right to your faces! Everything is dropped for the sake of completing this Arby&&Juggy project.

Hours of painstaking progress has went into replicating them with full functionality. Watch as an arbiter hop into a warthog, gun you down with their turrets, even take a tank for a spin. Watch the Juggernaut's roars of awesomeness as they beat you down with the force of 500 men.

Unless someone wants to make a higher quality custom model, sure. Why would we use a H2 Arbiter when we could use an H3 Arbiter?

I see that as an improvement over Halo 2's original campaign, the fact that they didn't introduce any new Flood forms was, as with quite a few other things, a let down.

Now, what about the pure forms and the Brute combat forms?

I also found the Flood to be most vicious in Halo 2 VS all others. (Might just be me but they were more powerful than Halo CE in Halo 2 and in Halo 3 they were much easier to kill/by pass even on Legendary.)

I don't blame you for saying that. The biomass on High Charity was certainly creepy. The way I see it though, bungie kinda ruined that feel in Halo 3 by adding the hole in High Charity's dome (where the light from The Ark peered in).

well yeah, that's a given

but in terms of flood

what really got to me was the way the biomass took over, and the cries that the flood made

H2 flood are the scariest for me. In H3 they are quite laughable, in H 1 they are still pretty cool. Also in H2, the flood don't always attack you head on, they may swipe at you and retreat a bit (sometimes while shooting at you) which I think is pretty kick ass and makes them tougher.

Flood in Halo 1 was awesome, just because when you first play.. in c10 you know there is something going on, then the flood appear and it is scary as hell through the rest of the game.

Halo 2 flood was awesome gameplay wise but i feel it is introduced poorly/too early. Quarantine zone and High Charity are a great example of how the flood should actually act.

Halo 3 flood uhh, nothing wrong with them, but they are very basic like in halo 1. No vehicles, just charge and melee. Also melee ruined it since you can single-handedly ruin a flood with a single melee, unlike the other games where it would take countless melees.
