you can probably shrink some ambient textures such as the godrays by sizing them down and blurring them for a more musty feel. you can also do the halo 2 technique by shrinking scenery diffuse textures and using the multipurpose and detail maps to flesh objects out instead.

Animations add a lot. Like I said check all of Zteam's FP animations and make sure the useless things like Spring, Equipment, Knife are removed. I removed them from the ones I fixed for you already

I fixed it by removing all the powerup equipment from the globals. Then I removed the SP biped and I managed to get us at 127.64 MB, which is just under the limit.

In short, WE HAS ANIMS AND BACKPACK WEPS

The reason slappy's valhalla was so low rated was because of the phantom bsp at blue base, the mongoose physics made me cry, the flag holder at blue base was red, the machine gun turret barrels didn't turn, the water looked unrealistic, the map looked a little cartoony to me, if i remember right it didn't have proper portals so it lagged a lot, in fp with the missilepod you could see the edge of your arm(and through your shoulder), the fusion coils physics made them fall through the ground and when they exploded the effect didn't play half the time, the man cannons were replaced by teleporters, the lens flares on the beacons at the top of the basses would flicker on and off and disappear when you got too far away(and they didn't have a pretty particle effect thingy), most of the scenery didn't cast shadows, the pelican was opened so campers would hide out there, and so much more. All of which I've fixed, i'm working on an upcoming release for it.

I mean don't get me wrong, Slappy did a great job with the map. He just got warn out working on it to the point that he couldn't anymore. And after he released it, he left the forum.

On Topic: @Jesse: the reason the animation tags are so high is probably because of their frame count. Is there any way you could reduce the frame count for them?

Those aren't lockers, those b gun racks.

We are at 126.34 MB. 094 had forgotten to fix the shader references for the magnum and sniper, which were using the H1 for the backpack models, meaning we had unneeded textures in the game.

Jesse, I posted this on the last page and even PM'd you and I've gotten no response.

Have you adjusted the BR's tagging to fire correctly, as Iffy figured out for the CMT Battle Rifle?

Seriously this is killing me, I want to know. This map will be terrible if I don't get the answer to this question. I will hate you forever. Forever.

Except the spiker which you somehow seem to like, unless you trashed that too.

I actually don't like halo3's animation overlays at all, they just don't feel energetic. I liked using the combination of your animations and Broke's. when foundry is done, I may revert to my old tagset's animations, rigged into Zteam's tagging and models, but only for some weapons, others that I had were crap, like the old plasma pistol or shotgun.

Now we just need 094 to get the 3p oddball and flag models fixed (simple rig fix), then we can beta test for any bugs and release.

It's So nice to see some people take there time and do a map right.
Foundry is by far Not one of my fav h3 maps but you guys have done such a great job on this map Its simply amazing...

I think I had more fun playing halo 3 on Xbox than any other halo game besides Halo CE
and it's maps like these that is why.

Things have changed so much in all of halo history but yet you guys have rely captured a moment hear with this project.

It looks exactly like the Halo I know and love. Brings back some good memory's.
This map will ROCK CE!

It's a no-brainer

I'm not liking that frag explosion. It looks more like a spark shower than a outburst of shrapnel. However, the ball is a nice touch

I'll see if I can change it sometime. To be honest, I'm getting a bit lazy. We are close to release and at this point I feel like many changes are too small to really matter, although I know that this could be a bad method of thinking right now.

The flag has been fixed, but the cloth physics are a little lulzy, but not TOO bad that we can't use them I suppose. Anyone know a thing about cloth physics?

Exact legitimacy is not needed as it can't happen. Ask the masses. If the masses want flames, give em flames. Otherwise, remember this is not H3. It is halo CE. Having minor tweaks away from original H3 version isn't going to change the fact that people will still be like "OMG it's Foundry!!!" Are they really gonna rip on you for putting flames on the oddball? Besides, if you were going for legitimacy, you would be using OS so you could have bloom and normal maps on objects. Now I know you don't want to do that, BUUUUT... it would be the way you should do it if you were going for legitimacy. Looking at it that way, this map will never be a 100% remake so like I said, ask the masses and if they demand it, give em a flaming skull.

You knew what I ment. The flames it had before was horrid.

But seeing as you put it that way, we'll put everything from h1 to h4 in the map, create a total chaotic map, with grenade launchers attached to the flags.

Seriously if that's how you see it.

I never once said to make it chaotic and mess it. That's blowing what I said way out of proportion. I simply said that since it can't be 100% anyway, why not throw an extra particle affect on it if people will like it. I never said "no, it's crap, redo it in the H4 style" I was making a case for that one detail. Sali seemed to like the idea and I absolutely guarantee that he is not alone. Seriously, my comment wasn't meant to be hostile. I made the comment to show that perhaps some leeway can be made in certain cases. The flames are simply aesthetic and people in this community like eyecandy from what I have seen. Besides, it is a small detail just like some of the other affects that H3 has that this map can not have. Also, it is a good idea to appeal to people outside the community and to people that simply come here looking at maps. Do they know that this map was made to be a complete remake? No, so anything that will catch their eye is good to keep the map being played.
