though i know very little about the sheild textures, why not try to impliment something similar to what was done with the SPv3 bipeds (Ifafudafi put up a good tutorial on how to give the sheild health effect)

Remember that last thing I said about us using OS Tool to bypass the map size restrictions- Masterz says if we do that the map will only play for OS users (against Jeese's original assumption). On this premise, we are now going to try and reduce the tag sizes manually, IE look through all of the tags (Zteam's especially) and cut the fat, mostly via using less qualtiy compressions or resolutions.

Other than that, I believe we're pretty much done and waiting for the private beta (don't bother asking, the answer is no). So now's the last chance to voice suggestions or critique; there's a few pages full of screenshots a few pages back. As of now the credits list is finalized, I guess.

Check through all of Zteams FP animations and make sure you delete "Sprint, Knife Throw, Equipement Throw, ect"

Do those take up much tagspace? Animation files are pretty small I think.

Well if every animation tag has all of those, then removing them all should save you some space. Oh, and another idea I had was try to look through shaders and limit cube-maps. See how few you can limit it to, and reuse them in other shaders. And try going into the character animations and find animations for vehicles that won't be in the map(Banshee\ ghost\ scorpion\whatever) And remove them. If you can save space here and there then it'll reduce the overall file size. Reuse textures for lens flares in light tags. Find super high res textures and reduce size, try it in multipurpose maps too. This is about all i can think of : / Lol.

Sorry if it's been asked before but... why isn't Open Sauce an option?

Let it be clear that I am not against OS completely, I just don't think it is necessary for this map, and I've explained the reasons why before. Besides, we are nearly running out of tagspace and we couldn't afford to add 20+ bump maps for every weapon , biped and scenery tag.

My 3ds max doesn't work anymore because I updated to the new ATI/AMD drivers, which cause 3ds not to load...

I tried rolling back to the old 12.0 catalyst drivers, but still no luck D:

This is also one reason why there hasn't been too much progress on foundry within the last two weeks or so.

Disable morphological filtering in system settings of ATI/AMD Catalyst if you have that on.

We're trying to keep the level as open to anybody as possible. Why can't my choice to not use OS be respected?

I respect you, sali ^_^. I no can haz OS, and i agree that it would split the playing audience. So i appreciate the decision :)

Well don't misunderstand, it's not that I'm disrespecting, I was merely curious.

It will also be singleplayer, so you can develop hair-pulling syndrome trying to load it by its map_name.

My 3dsmax has been fixed!

I've removed the yellow pipes that were the likely culprit of the portaling errors.

of course, lightmaps were run and geometry was changed, meaning Maniac may need to compensate with his lighting.

We will replace the yellow pipes with something else soon.

What do you guys think of this?:

I only spent about 5 minutes on them, but I could bunch them closer together to get rid of the obvious stretching...

I haven't added it in yet because I was dealing with that tagspace error, then I was blind sided by the 3dsmax error.

That wasn't the problem, but I got it fixed by completely uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them, instead of replacing them.

This. I'm 99% sure the map will be excelent and very fun, and I know patience is very important but I'm still dying for having it in my maps folder!

Not exactly true but it could be in this case.

Duke Nukem fans waited 12 years and they got an okay game.

Sorry about all the delays, add Jesse on Xfire and constantly spam him to finish Foundry. I'm starting to get antsy myself.

I need you to check the portals, then maniac will light the map when portals are done, and I gotta add zteam's plasma rifle and we should be set...

I actually hadn't read Dumb AI's post when I mentioned DN :P

I added the H3 Plasma Rifle provided by Zteam, I just gotta look through their tagset and see what else is good.
