I just plan to extract some player models from them, namely Master chief. I have a file titled "campaign.map" with no way to open it. I've tried google, and couldn't find anything that existed yet. I have tried Halo Map tools to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

You put it in your Xbox360 along with the H4 disk, it will open them up.

considering that the only way to get halo 4 .map files is incredibly beyond legal walls, why would you even ask this in public?

It had begun before the leak of Halo 4.
I would say that it started the day Halo 4's first trailers and leaked material (pictures,videos,etc) were released.

Don't know what you expected, asking for tools for a game that hasn't even come out yet. BTW, you also might not want to let people know that you have an illegal copy of the game, or a map file for the game at this point... Microsoft is still on the prowl.

Also,I don't think anyone who has the tools (assuming that they exist) would share them.
Very few have the Reach extractor tools (I mean the ones that can extract more than just bitmaps).

Try using a COD model exporter on it.

What you do is open up your computer case, now see that big block at the back with a fan on it? You know, where the power cord is.

What you do is get a metal bar, fully metal, and stick it straight through that box. There is a hidden switch in there, trust me, you WILL be shocked, when you see the tools appear on your computer.

Deleting System32 fixes most problems with drivers these days.
Just make sure you have a linux disk handy to fix that windows mess.

When attempting to access the PSU switch that rips Halo 4 map files, you should always turn off the power to the computer, wait a few hours, and wear insulated leather gloves and a rubber coated metal stick.

Ask your parent's permission first.
