yes because halo pc was influenced by halo 1 xbox. If it wasn't a big deal, then there would have probably not been a halo pc/ce

What I mean though is that Halo PC wasn't given high review scores and game of the year awards like halo 1 xbox was.

These weapons look like total crap. Using the reach weapons would be way better than using these replacements. I hope they aren't final. Edited by Invader Veex on Jul 19, 2011 at 05:03 PM

It seems like their main concerns were just getting the environmental changes done, and now they're probably working on the finer details like weapons and bipeds.

No, but seeing as 094 has extracted just about every model from Halo 3 back in the day I'm sure he [probably] knows what he's talking about.
Are you really that desperate to troll people? [/extreme mocking tone] Edited by ODX on Jul 19, 2011 at 02:40 PM Nope, just tired of hearing people spewing nonsense, its kind of sad how much of it there has been in this thread, admittedly, a small amount coming from myself. Your wrong. And I ripped all the models for Spartan, then later gave him the extractor, I would know myself, that, that is the 3p. line the edges in paint, and it matches a wireframe... All I am known for it rips, and believe me I know the models when I see them... EDIT: Glad to see your coming to your sense, you admit making "small amount from yourself" or you don't want to spread your stupidity infront of a well-respected member such as ODX. smh -_- To Hobble... Okay so part of my statement was wrong, but my main point was that he's seen lots of Halo 3's content. Particularly, the weapons both FP and 3P.

Let me settle this. The texture on that AR definitely matches the Halo 3 AR textures. UVs are the same, so by using simple logic we can conclude that the model used is in fact, the Halo 3 model, whether it's the 3P or a butchered FP can be fought out amongst yourselves. Alternatively you could argue the only remaining feasible possibility that a new model was created and then unwrapped to fit an already existing texture. Game companies would totally waste their time like that right? Try matching the scratches on the models, you will see that I am right. As for the different numbers plate screen, you can see that the "texture" of the screen was edited to not touch the edges on the bottom left and right sides of the screen which explains the difference. Why bother arguing with all of this anyway?

Actually, I'm sure they were just using that Halo 3 AR as a placeholder in the level and haven't changed it yet compared to other map builds that are using Reach assets. Again, as placeholders until they actually get to them.

The models look a tab bit alike. Halo:CEA will be a fun experience to those who love Halo 1 on the console. No reason this should even be on a Halo 1 PC/CE forum. Has nothing to do with it, this is CE discussion. Why discuss Xbox on a PC forum? And to those 'haters' of the models and animations, if you listen to the commentary videos or those from SDCC, they always tell you this is alpha/beta stages. Everything changes, and more than likely it will change again, to what the community likes. It's also the same reason on why they replaced the pistol and AR model, the COMMUNITY, asked them to. They were in for testing and will be tweaked or fully replaced to fit what the community wants, and what best goes with the original game.
And for multiplayer, you do not need to own Reach for it. It comes with the multiplayer built in. Yes it uses Reach's engine, but that's because they didn't want to separate the two games and communities away from one another. Even if you do not buy Halo:CEA, you can later download the maps in a map pack just for Reach. They are also creating a playlist specifically for the maps, it will be pure classic mode and change up the game play, as if it wasn't even like you were playing Reach. It's going to be a big title update, they will also be adding something else too, but I'm unsure of what it might be.

Ok, so people saying it's not worth it, you realize that. $40 worth of Microsoft points is about 2500 points reach multiplayer map packs 800 points each That's 3 maps for 800 points so with 7 in the game, that's 1600 points and a free map. Which equals roughly to about.... 900 points for the rest of the game. which equals about 10-12 dollars
Yay logic!

Halo 3 is basically it's own game (even though H2 was better IMO).
I would not pay more than 20$ for this new CE because even though as ODX said, they re-did everything including the game engine, they still only EDITED the game and haven't created new levels, encounters, weapon concepts or any of those things. It's still a mod and I doubt any mod should be worth more than the game. As far as I am concerned, this is still Halo 1, not a new game.
EDIT: I'm not hating, I actually think this will be cool but lets be real, this is a re-make. Edited by Jesse on Jul 27, 2011 at 05:57 PM
