Sure.

You'd think after 4 years with this I'd be able to navigate the camera better, but hey here's the best I can do.

You do this right, get good tags, do good portaling, this will beat a lot of maps in my opinion. I love the layout.
Granted it's symmetrical, but lots of maps are and this one looks like it will be great when you are done. A little high poly maybe though. We'll see later bout if that has a bad affect though.

It's beautiful. It fits in with the Forerunner layout, and I could definitely see Bungie making a map just like this.

Normally I'm all for asymmetry, but it just doesn't work in halo. I can't just detail each side different, aside from colours and make it fit in the art style. Otherwise I'd be all over that.

And looking at all versions of the game, there is a lot of symmetry in forerunner architecture.

i thought that too when i first saw it, reminded me of the halo 3 map, 'rats nest' as well. why hasnt anyone made rats nest yet anyway, its one of my favourite maps and very do-able on ce i think. awesome for gameplay.

I played halo 3, once, 3 years ago.

The closest it comes to being based off something from it would be construct. More or less when I came up with the design it was what I thought construct looked like, from the handful of pictures I've seen of it. Though, not having the game, or having ever played the level myself idk how similar it is, though Jcap tells me it's nothing like it.

Funny how these things turn out.

Also, pics/links to rats nest please, haven't seen it before afaik.

    It reminds me of Rats Nest simply because it is a giant circuit, with a bunch of stuff in the middle. Its like Valhalla:Blood Gulch or Guardian:Lockout.

    Yeah, I always though of circuit maps as being children of danger canyon. But whatever, this is pretty unique and uniquely pretty.

    Heavy weapons in the end of the round area, and overshield on the bridge. The idea is to put them in places that are vulnerable to fire from almost every part of the map.

    I've finished a fair bit more, but it's nothing that I could really show easily in max, it'll probably be a few more days until it's finished and ingame, depending on how focused I can stay on it.

    I have high hopes for this map. Considering how fun your last map for Halo was (wtf was it called? Can't remember right now) I think I'll actually jump onto the multiplayer for the first day or two after release (because after that no one will play it because its not Bloodgulch)

    fakeEdit: Oh Revelations, that's what it was. Besides that 1 piece of phantom geometry at the warthog jump I had tons of fun on that map.
