I noticed how simmilar saipien is to forge. you could, in theory, create a forge- like... thing for halo ce by creating the basic pieces for forge like wall, double wall, block, and corner and submitting them as scenery tags. then the modder could place them in saipien and make a simple tag space hungry structure in saipien. it could be made easily and effectivly and maybe even put them in a tag pack. i think this would make the modders life a lot simpler.
so is anyone up for the challenge??

pretty much anything like bases, bridges, crates, walls etc can be made into a scenery tag so that they can be added as scenery in sapien.

yea, he wants boxes and such that are all an exact size, so they can be matched up. I was going to do this for a while, release a pack with "building blocks" in it

Or you could just get your hands on the source code for a forge-like tool but then figure out that the game crashes every time you grab onto an object that's not static. Edited by Dwood on Feb 23, 2011 at 02:08 AM

Waste of time, you got yourself amd epic base, and then when u end the game, its gone? Wtf... Ajd if u could somehow (impossible) make it save as scenario, the average player could not load tool and compile a map, none the less play with other people on it.
None of this would even sync. Waste.

I do not think you are understanding what the OP is wanting to do. Basically he wants forge objects for use in sapien.

Possible. And by all the BG mods we've seen, the average player can compile maps. Don't use yourself as an example.

And even if the average player can't, I'm sure somebody on these forums has the coding knowledge to create a simple app to tell the computer to open tool, and type the commands. If viruses can get past epic protection and do it, I'm sure somebody can do it legally. Edited by Garagorn888 on Feb 24, 2011 at 01:27 PM

Problem being if it acts like a virus, your AV will shut 'er down, and then a flood of people will start complaining that it's malware on the forums if Dennis decides to host this program.
I believe you can set up a .bat though, not sure how that would work/turn out.

first of all i know how to compile maps i have modding pretty much down. i just make ai maps mostly and i dont feel like submitting them. second of all this doesnt need to become an argument i was just sayin it would be nice cause every modder at one time has felt kinda lazy plus i find 3d moddleing quite boring
