Oh, and from what i can see, epic job so far. He's never one xfire, because he keeps disappearing, don't believe me? Watch and see, you'll likely not get a reply.

Hey all you patient people. I know I have been gone for awhile and like a total dick I didn't tell anybody what was going anything. For that I apologize profusely!
But the Trinity maps are far from dead. Infact they have never been closer to completion. I have a few new things that were added before I disappeared that nobody knows about and I will keep those new things as surprises for all you good people :)
I'm facing two problems right now.
1. The same exception error that Genocide had before my disappearance 2. The computer with all of my Halo related data (maps, tagset, dataset, applications, ect) has decided that it no longer wants to boot into windows (blue screen of death immediately after the windows xp loading screen. So somehow I have to pull the hard drive in it and obtain my precious data. I'm not too sure how to go about this because my development pc is very old and my new pc is damn near brand new. If im not mistaken, the hard drives in my dev pc don't use the same connectors as my pc.

UPDATE: I found backups of all three trinity maps. They are only betas but atleast it's something. I am just happy I can beta test them while I try and recover my data from my other computer.
How does one go about recovering data off a hard drive? I feel dumb asking this tbh.

How does one go about recovering data off a hard drive? I feel dumb asking this tbh. If you use windows, I think there are some data back up apps on microsoft's site. If you use linux, I don't have a clue... There's probably an adaptor for your hard drive though if backing it up won't work. You'll probably need to run a full virus scan on it before you fully install it to your new pc though. Yeah, I've never had to backup my hard drive, so I'm not sure if this will work... Is this page dead? I hope it's not dead, because believe me, H:CE is going the way of the dinosaurs, and this might be the only thing to revive it...
Ender, what PC model is it? Find out the model, and then we can try to find out the hard drive, and what connections it takes. From there, you just need an adapter with the right...err...shaped end.

lol? A handful of poorly modeled gimmick airplane maps are the saving grace of HCE? Yeah not like there's a bunch of better projects out there like Cmt spv3 or Lumoria :] Edited by SeL on Oct 26, 2011 at 09:46 PM

Yeah not like there's a bunch of better projects out there like Cmt spv3 or Lumoria :] Edited by SeL on Oct 26, 2011 at 09:46 PM Lumoria was custom with stock weapons/vehicles (Right?), and CMT SPV3 was a new weapon-set for stock maps (right?). This is completely (or, mostly) custom, along with having some pretty well tagged vehicles. Plus, I don't think this was planning on being protected, which would add more vehicles/scenery to the small amount that is currently available on here. You're aloud to think that those projects are better, but I would rather this than both of those =\. EDIT: EPIC BUMPZOR! Edited by Amazingcuziam on Oct 26, 2011 at 10:31 PM

It's been a long time coming and for awhile I was convinced that the Vesper would never see a dogfight due to a wierd exception error with a block function attachment but that has since been fixed after two nights of staying up all night working away. The maps are still being beta tested but there is a light of release at the end of the tunnel. Feedback is good! sorry, i didn't notice you were having this problem. this let me fix a harddrive which had practically gave up and was not reconised by my system anymore. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MZWZYEQD here's how to use it, it's easy. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step also if you are not able to recover the harddrive, then just take the files you want off of it with this little gem. (the link is in your PM box). reason why? cause it's a licenced file.

You could technically download a hack and hack your own harddrive, bypassing the broken security and broken software, and just grab the stuff you want, but it's kinda illegal unless you actually get the hack from a technician. :I

Try a USB harddrive adapter! It usually comes with a SATA port, an IDE port(old ribbon), and a mini-IDE port(10+yr old laptops). These come in handy when you do lot's of work that you know puts tons of stress on the system. edit> okay, i just realized... what if you cant afford this kinda thing. Sorry, I don't think of consequences until it's too late anyways. this thingEdited by OrangeJuice on Dec 13, 2011 at 02:48 PM

How does one go about recovering data off a hard drive? I feel dumb asking this tbh. I believe i can Assist you with this, Either; A) install a Linux Based OS (Ubuntu FTW) on the Computer with the Tags etc., Installing Dual-boot is Recommended, Don't over-right anything, re-size partitions if you have to, then use a Flash Drive or a Portable/Desktop hard drive to backup Whatever you need, and you know what to do form there. B) Remove the Hard drive, then use An external Connection to reconnect into your "working" Computer B1) If it's Small and light, use a "Portable hard Drive" disassemble the case, and remove the drive from the connectors and plug your drive in, you know what to do from here. B2) If it's Large and heavy, use a "Desktop hard Drive" Disassemble the case, and remove the drive from the connectors and plug your drive in, you know what to do from here. As you can tell, I'm not good at explaining things, i hope you understand what i said, (FYI i recommend Option A)

Then, you can copy your tags folder / whatnot into the portable hard drive. That way, no drive partitioning is necessary, and data loss risks are minimized. Hope this helped. PS: err...kinda didn't notice the last post date, sorry for bump contributing :P Edited by sargejohnson on Jun 3, 2012 at 12:02 AM
