I Honostly like the idea of the Pelican automanicly opening its door like the Old Pelican from extinction when low to the ground, cause if u press control (ctrl (crouch on default)) you will move down, and i use crouch to for peli battle tactics in mid air, so for me, that will be strange, seing the door open while trying to navigate thru cracks and small areas, even tho it will still open, lolz
but some peopel dont know how to crouch, thus making it harder to enter the vehicle for passengers, unless you just jump at its side (lolz) and hold the enter vehicle key (E on defalt)

The aerial vehicles wouldn't be just in the carrier. There are a good number of UNSC vehicles to choose from, as well as the mini carrier and cruiser, and when all else fails, teleporters.

Adding some extra seraphs on the ship would give some reason, in addition to adding to gameplay aesthetically.

I know for a fact that there are many varied spawns on the map, and that if they're unfortunate enough to spawn on the ground and there are no team-mates who are up in the cruiser, then the other team will have an unfair advantage, seeing as they have more opportunities to grab an air vehicle.

Is it possible to have it open the hatch when you use Flashlight? So you could open it in mid air?
Think reach where 6 and Emile jump out of the pelican.
Also a suggestion, Give vehicles damage when the collide with walls/other vehicles, It'd stop people just flying into a hanger and spawn killing everyone.

Yeah it's the model you made man! (it's teh awesome btw very accurate)

and yeah I want the back door to the pelican to open when you press cntl (it will be linked to the engine hack function as an animation) or I can have it open when you get close to the ground (suspension animation) working in the same way that the landing gear does.

Which way do you guys think is better?

Oh yes, why didn't I think of that before? Oh yes! It's because someone will rush in with a pelican and spawn kill them if all the spawns are on the ship. Besides, now they have a disadvantage when it comes to ground support, because there won't be any. It would take too long to jump off, grab a vehicle, and then go.

In Team Slayer, team spawn points don't mean anything. In capture the flag, the flag would have to be in the ship for it to be defended properly, and having to run into an interior to get the objective is damn near impossible. Didn't like that in Extinction AI. Also, the collision geometry for such a large object is impossible, so the gbxmodel would have to be imported and added as part of the level, then exported again, and, worst of all, radiosity would have to be done (again) so the whole thing would take a few days, then beta tested and debugged, so it would delay even more. It would come out in another map. I am working on an assault carrier with a hangar for a sequel to Extinction.

Yeah, In team player the appointed spawns dont always work. Thats why it needs to you CTF for your Idea (Of the ships in the cove cruiser), But that would be unfiar for the other team. + Spawn killing frenzy.

Yeah easily. Works the same as the longswords's support seats. It's seat anim is the chief standing there while the game thinks he is in a seat and attaches him to the physics of the vehicle.

I don't particularly agree with the door thing anyway. in-game where it's impossible to accidentally fall out having the doors would only stop you from shooting things outside the ship and means that if a lethal missile is locked on to them, they can't get out.

He ran out of tagspace. I'm trying to get it from him for use in my map, but he hasn't responded to an IM I sent him earlier. Plus, the Draco takes up a 5#!+ ton of space on a map.

Well, I don't know whats been done with this map's elephants, but I've driven ones in other maps, and I don't think they're that great. Sure, they have their benefits, but not much.

If someone would give them Pelican-grade armor and a better camera angle, they wouldn't be too bad.

I was thinking more that they're slow and only have a warthog turret for defense. Armor is good, but their speed makes them prone to airstrikes with missiles. A new turret would probably be better.

They're like extra-big pelicans that can't fly, are incredibly slow (by vehicle standards), they have a single chaingun, they offer relatively little cover to passengers. Why the HELL would anyone use them

Actually they probably would. Do you even know how big an Elephant is?
The only problem is, this intimidating size is only when compared to bipeds and the close-combat vehicles that are in normal Halo gameplay.
When compared to aircraft, it's only of average size, yet still bulky, slow and uncapable of flight. There's no reason to use it when there's Longswords, which are similar in size, but are much faster, can fly, and drop nukes which no Elephant could evade if they were targetted.

Well it's been a long battle but here's an update on what h4x I have up my sleeve for you guys.
There be a video for a visual update as soon as re-population is complete, for now just a wall 'o text.

After hours of beta testing with Shroomychiz and Tiamat we discovered that Genocide's CTF gameplay was somewhat boring and needed to be spiced up a notch. This was due to the flags being out in the open and it was exactly the same ctf game as in extinction (jets are the only way) and i hated that. So I have added two-room caves for each team. They have tunnel entrances in the cliffs on each side of the map. The entrance to the cave is ice and has a decline and curves, making ground vehicles have to work to get in, while it is too narrow for flying vehicles. Best results were from carrying a warthog or ghost to the opposing entrance with a dropship and going for the flag. In the first room of the caves there is a structure surrounded by ice in the center. Also there is a ledge high up on the wall of the cave that has a teleporter that the gives the defending team a quick way to get into the caves. The second room of the cave has a orbital mac cannon generator surrounded by ice in the center, and the flag is inside. This added intense teamplay into the game and requires you to work together and delegate defense to hang out in the caves guarding the flag.

Also, the Vanity and Humility flagship from Extinction has been added into the map to tie into the story, and has a gravlift, with a scaled gravlift base on the ground. The Scarab respawns at the top of the gravlift and floats down to the center. Players can also use the gravlift to fall directly onto the scarab from the bridge of the flagship. Also, a hangar for the flagship has been added. Several interior rooms have been added to the Genocide, as well as a hangar. Far far up in the sky there is an orbital mac station that will be accesible by both teams and will play an important role in king of the hill and oddball. No more roaming around aimlessly in a jet in these gametypes. The terrain has been redone yet again and more details have been added including two frozen lakes that are real-time mirrors. Portals have been redone to reduce lag. For all you easter egg nuts out there I have added a temple for you to find good freaking luck though :).

As if things weren't already looking up, I received another generous donation from Dave of his falcon, shortsword interceptor, and sabre models and I will be ingaming these for use in both big maps. The Halo 3 Phantom has also been added to both big maps, along with a custom red wraith-like vehicle that has the armament of a revenant, and an updated version of the "draco". (I hate that name.) It has a mini mac cannon similar in power to a gauss and missiles. The Spirit dropship has been refined, and retextured with a H3 vibe and features much better weaponry and has been added in both big maps.

Contamination has had numerous bsp touchups, and a few new vehicles and scenery added. Interior rooms were added to some of the structures and some waterfalls have been added in blue team's base that relate to the water treatment structure that resides in the lake. It has also had a secret temple added :D.

I'm probably missing out things but that's the major changes.

In response to the Elephant comments, it has been sped up slightly, and has a very powerful turret and strong armour. It actually proves extremely useful as does the Shadow, it's covenant equivalent. I don't know about anyone else's versions, but these versions of the Elephant and Shadow have had many touchups before they entered these maps. As have all of the vehicles.

It ties in the story, as well as having accessible rooms.
