Doesn't that make 343 and Bungie brothers?

Dude....Microsoft can't continue the Halo Series. That was their Contract when they split. I don't know how OLD this post is but Bungie has been making Halo 1/2/3/Reach/ODST. -.-

Thats why M$ got somwone else to make the game.

*owned Bungie.

But yeah, considering half of Bungie's oldies (like Frank O'Connor) that aren't at Bungie are probably there.

I would say it's possible, since the PC is part of Microsoft's "software lineup." (Apple's is referred to as the 'Mac')

I would also say it is 100% likely the next Bungie game after Reach will be on PC's as well as PS3 and perhaps even Wii. If not I will rage.

I wouldn't bet on that point. Bungie has taken a decided direction and invested in an expensive infrastructure for being a console, namely an Xbox, company. Their back end video rendering system and Xbox live infrastructure ties them technically and financially to the Xbox console. Although I would love to see it, I seriously doubt that they would abandon that investment for PC gaming especially since games are increasingly reliant on network infrastructure to become successful. They would have to establish their own independent server network and software delivery system along the lines of Valve’s Steam to even come close to what they can do with their existing ties to the Xbox live network. As successful as they have become that investment is still outside the realm of their abilities given their already proven track record in the Xbox arena.

The neat thing to note is that it excludes the wii from the picture completely.

In all honesty , FPS games with a wii mote kind of fail. Plus , the Wii can't handle the graphics requirements, it's a more arcade oriented console.

It's more of an actual video game console.
Unlike the 360 and PS3, which are reality simulators.

Know the difference ;P

Honestly though, that's all anyone cares about these days is 'photorealism' in games. Nintendo is great because they say "Eff that" and bring actual games to the table. They support art style and innovation, while everyone else horribly fails at it and just copies real life.

And before you go saying Halo is about the same so why don't I hate it, Halo is innovative. It's a slower-paced shooter where you don't die in 1 second (CoD), the sci-fi weapons don't look exactly 'realistic' like all other sci-fi shooters.

And for whoever's sake, they invented their own architectural styles that people here have learned to model (mainly Forerunner) and it's bloody brilliant and beautiful if I must say so myself.

These "Reality" simulators don't do a great job of representing reality.
Truth is , the Wii will NOT be a good platform for playing FPSes on. It's fun , but when it comes to an FPS , there really isn't much hope for it.

It's not like there's any new innovation in FPSs anyway for me to care even if a 'good' one came to Wii.

All shooters feel the same to me now, and it's even worse since over half of them are sequels and therefore play the same as what I already have.

I really hope Bungie's next game isn't a shooter, unless they somehow do something so mind-boggling as a shooter that it actually is fun to play, something new and interesting that hopefully doesn't copy reality either.

There isn't much we can do apart from copy reality. It's our only example.

Uh, how about imagination? Creativity? I spoke in graphic terms, mind you, and let me tell you: almost no Nintendo games are based entirely on photorealism.

Mario, Donkey Kong, KIRBY'S FREAKING EPIC YARN? The closest you can get is Metroid Prime, but that has a unique art style that sets it apart.

Imagination is part of reality. Reality encompasses everything that we can conceive of and perceive. Whatever we can imagine derives from what we perceive in real life. So technically, everything originates from reality.

Bungie should make more Halos, but this time they should try not to make it feel like call of duty. I say more space fights and Alien races, more flood and forerunner wars, more elite vs brutes, and especially resuming the Master Chief's story rather than making a new one with Noble 6!
But Noble 6 is kinda cool. They should try and re-explore the Halo universe and add more fictional feats rather than sticking with the stuff that we already used in the past, they should make a newer more kick-a** Halo game than Halo 3 ever was. Bungie will always be the creators of Halo and not 343. 343 is just a substitute, adn when the day comes Bungie will again make Halo games and re-take the game that kicked-a** since 2003. The day will come.... all we have to do is wait.

Watch it be Halo3 PC CE incognito with a title like "AGAMESTARRINGMASTERCHIEFSAVINGEARTHANDGOINGTOTHEARKCUSTOMEDITION." Oh yeah, that would totally rock.

Unfortunately for me if a game has terrible fp animations I don't bother to play it just because I can't stand looking at them all the time X_x
It completely kills gameplay for me too and the feel of all the weapons to a point that I don't care anymore.

You know what kills gameplay for me?
A shotgun with a red dot sight and a silencer. :S

Microsoft owns the Halo series, Bungie stopped in order to preserve the series, but Microsoft has other plans.

If it were actually up to Bungie, there would be Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo: Reach Movie. End.

My friend over at Bungie said that the team is kind of fed up with Microsoft's push for more and more, but when I said it was harsh, he told me that it was normal for sponsoring companies to do that. Its their way of making sure the job gets done their way.

So in general, ODST, Halo Legends, AND Halo Reach game are Microsoft's ideas. Althought the intention of the Reach game has been in production since Halo 2, it was still a want for Bungie to close the series with amovie to make the storyline more fluent and smooth.

No, 343 wants the movie.

343 was after the original presentations of making a movie, 343 was about making the animated series.

my "friend" is just that, would you mention your friend's names on this website? I don't know you!

Halo: Reach was a movie idea too, I was on top of that a long time ago, any old Halo Maps users that knew me well enough knew I was obsessed with Halo at one time in my life. VERY obsessed. (Ask Cody, Aaron, Geared, and HDoan even, haha, funny story there =) ).

Shotguns with silencers are more likely than you think.
