DAMN IT THREE MORE YEARS, I HAVE TO WAIT THREE MORE YEARS UNTIL I CAN GO AND MAKE WHATEVER GAME THEY'RE MAKING DECENT.

Because chances are they're going to hire some crap animator (unless it perhaps isn't even an FPS :O)

I imagine that the people in this community are better than the people who have had years of valid , industry applicable experience.

Indeed! Our few years of experience with a limited, outdated engine, creating assets with quality befitting a game from 2003, lack of formal training or experience on huge, multidisciplinary teams with huge budgets and access to powerful technology is more than enough to out-do whatever those 'professionals' can muster.

My sister's friend, who just recently graduated from college, is working at 343 industries on the next halo project. He is under a strict NDA so don't expect me to get anything out of him. But they have been some popular people in entertainment design. Including robogabo and SPARTH. If they have sparth on the team then it is going to be good reguardless.

In terms of our raw skills in the art, I'm sure there's a few people here who are better than 'professionals' in a retail game company X_x

(speaking from my own art)
Honestly, there's quite a few FP Animations in games that make me want to cry they are so bad compared to the actual look of the game. (Such as F3AR, Bioshock, etc D:)

Quite honestly 3-4 years of college learning how to 3d model and all that other stuff compared to people learning on their own with a desire to do so working at their own natural pace for 3-4 years. I'm quite honestly not sure which person will have better work. Design takes practice, so you can't really expect top quality work from someone who just graduated either.

I have to agree with both Cocaine and Arteen, though cocaine did majorly miss the sarcasm. In essence Arteen is right, we are noobs in the mind set of "professionals". Though we might lack a few years of experience, what we have that the professionals don't have is the endless creativity in our forums here.

One good person won't make the game epic.

It's going to be an okay game because microsh!t never really makes good products. It's all about the money.

I'm really sick of the "OMG THIS IS SUCKING WTF LET HALO DIE M$ IS A CASHCOW" bullcrap. It's a company continuing a franchise that people are interested in greatly. Not one Halo game has been bad yet and even though Bungie is moving on to other things that does not mean the new Halo games are going to suck. Can they? Yes. Will they? Maybe. Is it FACTUAL THAT THEY WILL? No. Most people who worked on Halo once before are working at 343 Industries for the new games. Saying that Microsoft is cashcowing is just another way to cry for attention and to try to be funny.

Microsoft owns the rights to Halo, so they can do whatever they want with it. Also, why do I sense a South Park episode where Bill Gates and Frankie rape the Chief?
