Your an idiot, the comment was not just directed to you. My comment was directed to everyone. I could care less about your personal project unless it affected me or I found it enjoyable, but obviously none of the public has heard anything on it yet.

The date was posted on the first post. If your not capable of being able to complete something worthy of showing in almost month, then you really shouldn't be trying to complete things in a certain time frame.

That being said, I've completed the things I'll be showing, however I haven't done any thing to get it to Bullet or Matt.

Even if this is the internet, I still try to maintain my work flow, and projects some what professionally. I could care less if the time frame was pushed back or not, however I originally had posted becuase of Duce's side of the argument was much more correct (In my opinion, like I said, I try to keep things organized, etc). I was also not judging, but my statement sticks as to, "You have this time frame, stick with it". If you have a time frame, it makes you much more motivated. When you look back on it, it helps and shows you how much dates really do make you work towards. It can be applied to anything.

Hope this helps explain why my 4 or 5 sentences made you go on a rage.

Holy crap, like I've said before: this [Halo CE] is a hobby and a game, you are not getting paid for anything and no one should have limits to complete anything ever.

And anyways, it is the decision of Dratt or whoever to decide, not you.

I read till the 1st comment by Duce, then i see arguing.
Having seen this type of competition/event on many occasions, i can tell you that Duce and those who agree are indeed correct.
There will be maybe somewhere between 1 and 4 people (i guess 2) who will turn in a late map, the rest will either ask for more time or just not complete it.
So take that how you want.
edit: having read more of the "arguing" i feel it is appropriate to also say that it is just for fun, so whatever you do is just fine.

To be honest, I'd love to have another week. I was out of the country for an entire week (no computer or anything to work on for CE3) and I have a TON to do this week. At best, I could only Broadcast something with the amount of time I have right now.

To add on to this, do we need a guide or tutorial on how to do something if that's what our demonstration is about? Not a detailed tutorial, but enough to scratch the surface and explain how the demonstration was done.

what should our videos look like? Just like in game stuff? Or like a trailer-like video? This was not made clear.

in real e3 it's usually either trailers, clips, or ingame demos. take your pick

Although it may be a hobby like ODX pointed out, working with timelines is something you have to get used to, especially if you are considering pursuing a career in game development. Get used to working to timelines or gtfo. Projects can come up without warning and it is up to you to react appropriately and get it done. It isn't impossible..

No, this is still a hobby, not training towards going to a professional environment of video game makers and designers.

The average age group of people here at my home of Halomaps is around 10-15, perhaps even stretching to 16. We are young, should be enjoying life, and not have limits set upon us for something we do as a matter of entertainment and not a way of living.

I laugh how its been 13-17 the last 2 years and now suddenly its 10-15, even though almost no members left. I am pushing 16, this is my entertainment, and I have a life and friends, don't gives us a lecture ODX...
