You can optimize your model by having those pipes on the sides as scenery.

but I mean, following a tutorial isn't a bad thing. If you make it yourself, regardless of if you make the same thing, its still yours tbh

I've never understood why everyone hates on someone for actually trying. I'd say he's doing better than just making bloodgulch mods. Give him a break, he's learning. Hell he can do more than I can.

I don't think Flanker was hating, he just posts like that.

tutorials are a great way to learn, and everyone should be grateful that he's not pushing bloodgulch mods.

Well, I've got my high hopes for Halonimator to publish good SP maps, the planet_flood series weren't the most fun to play, but there was a huge improvement from A to B, so I'm really interested to see his next finished SP map

The fact that he followed a tutorial isn't wrong, heck the first weapon I ever made was a practical carbon copy of yoda's UMP.

Nope, there is nothing wrong with following a tutorial but there is something very wrong with BLATANT FIBBING!

Sorry dad have to correct you here but technically he didn't try at all.

If we are even going to bother to attempt to give him an atoms worth of credit then perhaps he can be praised for assimilating parts his education and re-assembling them in a simpler form.

No, no, no. I was hating, infact if it helps clear the air I'll just write in red from now on when ever I am relaying negative thoughts.

Yes he may have followed a tutorial, and I do not want to offend anyone by saying this but, at least he is trying, and hell he probably did it quicker than I did. I understand he didn't list that he followed the tutorials, but, it would be nice next time if he gave credit.

Oh come on Flanker, you need to agree that he's really getting better over time, and he made the textures himself and that was fairly impressive

was gonna say this before, but it really just looks like a conglomerated mesh of the A10 textures.

Modular level design is nothing new, even back in those days. But giving credit for following tutorials? That is pointless and nitpicky.

Do I agree with having to give credit for using tutorials? No. But to appease more... "picky" people if he doesn't want to get flak for it, might be a good idea. Otherwise, ignore those people.

I like the attention to detail on the unwraps still don't like the fact it's just pipes. And it prob won't duplicate well due to high poly count.

Second structure looks good though I can't see much of anything.

As far as your hallway, don't just put pipes and hoses to have pipes and hoses. Try and think of what they might be used for, have some split off and maybe have color codes (or even actual words) and arrows and stuff to indicate detail. Granted, you can only do so much of this, but if you were just to vary the number and have them sometimes split off, etc, it's bump your quality up a lot. Make sure you have your layout of how your hallways are going to be first though, but if modularity is your thing, you can make a few variants just fine.

Fix your atrocious UVs and check "simple parameterization" on the shader tags for the grass and cliffs.

I don't think that would be much help patxi, Ideally what the guy needs is someone modifying the uv verts in real time atop an actual 2d texture in the unwrap viewport.
