The animation must be quite a fast motion because all I see is a still image.

Didn't Halo 4 have a lower origin than 1 and 5?

Everything has a lower origin than 1. 5 is pretty close to 4, but IS a bit lower.

Too high up for my tastes.
I'd move it down and point it a bit up.

Dig it, except for the spots where I can see your brush strokes. Once you've got basic shapes, color and value locked in set your brush opacity to like 20-65% and keep pressing alt to quickly change the colors you have selected. Use that to paint over things several times and camouflage your brush strokes.

How is it? I have a Bamboo Create (been painting digitally for almost 4 years now) and am seriously thinking about upgrading to the Cintiq 13HD with touch.

13 is far too small. 22 is perfect for desk usage and lazy bed ridden saturday afternoons. 24 is a little too expensive and the bigger the pad the higher chance it could get damaged if you live around cats.

Me neither.
Haven't drawn in well over 7 or 8 years before I got my table

So I just sort of screw around on youtube drawing whatever how-tos I find. That's why my gallery is mostly animations and only like 1 painting. (because I still suck at drawing ! ! xD so I animate instead[crappy stuff])
Just keep drawing with it. Whatever sucks to you might look awesome to your audience

I dabble with animation

I was expecting a 3p or fp thing. 0/10

8/10 - effort.

the best part about hand-drawn animation is once you understand the concept of motion, you can easily translate it into 3d

I find it easier to study the movement of real life subjects. Specifically the fluidity of cats, crows and of-course humans are prime examples.

I would argue that 2D Animation should be learned or understood before 3D. My reasoning is simply the same as to why you develop a story board (I f-ing love story boards) before investing into a feature-length animation.

That said, you're completely right in that you don't need to know 2D before going to 3D. Teh_Lag and ODX (to my knowledge) started in 3D. Both are excellent at what they do (or did, not sure anymore) and I don't believe they ever revealed drawings of their animations.

All I'm saying is, I would die trying to 3D animate with a step-by-step reference of what my animation was. 2D animation makes sense to me until it looks as fluid as that GIF. Then I'm 100% I have no clue.

I was almost sure that the last drawing was inspired by David Bowie though, so i's not that bad, and the face is still legit. I think you should focus on the anatomic design and variations/limits of the shapes and try to understand how to draw it.
