I don't think I've ever compiled tutorial :X. I don't think you've ever compiled any map. I think you have all tasks delegated to your lackeys. we prefer the term minions. Minions, flunkies, bootlickers, ass-kissers, brown-nosers; it really doesn't matter what you call them.

Any plans on releasing it? I know a friend who would sell his soul for having this on CE.

The first preset 'First Contact' is basically a direct rip of the intro to Standing, and it's awesome.

Edited by Kinnet on Feb 4, 2016 at 06:53 AM So the CMT TSC:E AR has no rail mount or mount points in order for you to place the holo sight above the cowling/ammo display. It's also virtually impractical unless you like getting your teeth smashes in by the ophandle. It's also gold. And it looks way weird. But it's a cool idea though.

I don't think your face would be that far forward. --- @Kinnet: I believe the CMT AR already has an integral reflex sight that patches into the ammo counter's display, so having a standalone attachment is a tad redundant. If you were to swap out the AR's top cowling and ammo counter for a BR-style carry handle, though, that could be interesting.

the CMT AR uses it's old flashlight as a camera for a digital zoom. Bob did design the ammo counter to be modular, you should be able to delete it in Max and add your own attachments on it.

I recently picked up 3DS since I've never modeled before or anything.
Started by playing with lights and such and watching tutorials.
Rendered some interior lighting DLMs with mental ray for Wizard and threw on some (really bad) specular effects.
Was fun to learn though! Render took a while, it's only at 1024; I figured until I had good quality lighting waiting >4x as long was stupid.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzslbUj9VAA This looks like it could definitely work, but the main issue I see is that the specular reflections for your lights are way too hard. soften the light's reflections and try redoing with some AO and GI settings included. It'll take longer but it'll make fewer lights have a greater impact and it'll be so much cleaner.

I threw in the specular settings in the shaders just to see what would happen, using some TSC:E shaders as reference. The main issue I had with this was using a daylight system, MR Sun. Even with the "sky" settings at 0, and the sun settings at high contrast, the indirect illumination was crazy high, to where the direct sunlight to shadow contrast was barely noticeable. It washed out all the indoor lighting and looked awful. In the 3DS perspective renders it was crisp and clean, but clearly that doesn't translate to in-game results at all. I wish there was any sort of tutorial for this other than the basic OS bitbucket how-to, although that has been extremely helpful in the setup and tag department.

I use blender too for my modeling and animation tasks. Simply because I can't afford the relevant more popular alternatives + am not a student + I won't pirate cause I'm a good law-obeying lad. The blender controls really are a marvel of unintuitivity, but you get used to it.
