Been practicing and modeling lots and lots of sealed-world compliant gothic architecture and playing lots and lots of 788685 for reference
I've also been cheating the system for lowspec by exporting high-poly BSP stuff as scenery to save a ton of FPS. I guess it's because I've been using scenery in-place of highpoly BSP elements but it's quite an improvement and saves a TON on lightmapping. Especially since you can fake global-illumination(and bumpmapping!) using opensauce .shader_models
So far, stuff like this runs amazingly smooth on a low end AMD APU, maybe I can even squeeze a cathedral into a testmap and get away with it without needing crazy hardware requirements like a Sunny Sharma map, that's my goal :) Edited by OrangeJuice on Oct 10, 2014 at 02:37 PM

So thellt asked if team specific permutations are possible. http://youtu.be/G4HRtTolNB0 Now I am trying to get this to be done without OS but there isn't anything I can use to detect a player's team. Trigger volumes to enter a team would work for non-OS, much like at the start of a TF2 game or a Natural Selection 2 Game: And yes I know ChockingVictim22 did bipeds with OS. Not sure how he did that or if he is still around. If anyone can make this possible without OS and without having to go through the trigger volumes then that would be cool.

quite frankly I believe trigger volumes would be easier. OpsY wrote a script for Beta7 to do biped changes based on a weapon pickup, but you could just as easily rework the script to suit trigger volumes I would assume.
Two more things. One, as a huge test, try to get it to work with bipeds with different bonesets, because that's what people usually ask for. I know for a fact you could fake it by rigging the elites onto cyborg bones (and you would be wise in understanding that you could get animations to not look bad by doing that). Two, why is the camera for your grunt at his crotch? Grunts may be seemingly short, but they're actually ~6 feet tall.

thank you by the way, spiral for incorperating this! I AM SUPER happy that someones taking time, to take on a request i made. if people do this kindof thing, i might be willing to find some way to repay all of you. the help.... WONDERFUL , also jus the fact that this was given... spiral even said hed help me out with fp legs, and BOTH scripts are something i asked for a rediculous ton

The structure is very nice, but what really caught my eye is that environment, very nice. The atmosphere and lighting blends with the textures very well.

I'd suggest using some strip and strip light textures sparingly. They tend to make the structure feel more intricate

I found this awesome concept art on Bungie.net for Halo CE. Imagine if this was ever put ingame! It looks awesome. Perhaps it's meant to be an early iteration of a phantom or lich?

If you look at the screenshot no errors at all But when I enter inside the map just to check if the flood is in the game this error shows up "Gathering exception" and it closes down halo custom edition.

So I realized that the zteam pack didn't have many elite animations, this includes h2 shotgun http://youtu.be/cEbKm-x1jmY Did that myself. I'm probably gonna end up using custom animations for all weapons I use. Edited by Spiral on Oct 16, 2014 at 04:58 AM

Try to speed up the animation some and make the recoil more noticeable. Your melee also feels rather inefficient, because you'd only be smacking with the tip of the barrel which isn't particularly strong. Try to make a elbow-smash type melee or a mock-up of Halo 2's uppercut. Reload has an interesting take, but the angle feels wrong and the reload itself feels much slower than it needs to be. Try tilting the gun a bit and speed up the shell-in areas

I was trying to make that animations look like h2's crappy fp animations. Judging by the responses I think I got that down. This was made several months ago and I have learned a lot about animation. If I revisit the shotgun it will be very different.

I'm going to be a jerk and remark that holding a gun like that is probably very bad on recoil management (which would explain why the Spartan cant fire it without it almost hitting his face :x)
Otherwise the actual projectile thing is pretty cool.
