I think it's like ODST where they have better looking models for cutscenes which is really obvious at the start of costal highway. i think they said something about it being rendered ingame but i cant remember.

Well we can see the improvement on the crewman face... looks like bungie is at par with 2007's games now.

Does it matter if it's a BR or not? Seriously, It's like for half of you if the game isn't this or that than it sucks. This is a freaking trailer. Not any ingame footage. Until you see demo videos, anything you say is completely neutral and absolutely skeptical. Anyone who flames or is an ass for the reason that they think they're right is too arrogant to realize it.

It's a rifle and I think I'll go with a few here and say it's a prototype to the BR55 we know and a mix with the E3 BR we wanted to know.

Well, a modified battle rifle, if it was a new weapon then I am sure it wouldn't look like a battle rifle, nor look similar. Its got a sight, maybe ACOG. Its got the triangles. Its got the ammo counter in more or less the same place. Its got the grip at the front. Its got the barrel at the front with that other small "barrel?" under it. Its got the magazine in the stock...

Its a battle rifle.

It says in one of the books that they were field testing some new weapons (fall of reach or first strike I think) I think the latest BR model was being prototyped on reach as well as the automag.

The weapon Jorge is holding on one of the pictures looks like a flame thrower but I'm not sure and it seems as though the shotgun is getting bigger.

It's not the same battle rifle from the other games. That's all I'm saying. It looks differnt, and will most likeley function differently as well. And I highly doubt they would make a new gun and give it the same name as an old one. Therefore it is not a "Battle Rifle", no matter how similar it may be. Also, a better lit picture I took:

If its not a Battle Rifle, what is it supposed to be? A Battle Pistol? Its still a dam rifle, its not a pistol, its not an smg, nor is it a rocket launcher. So therefore, its a Battle Rifle.

You can clearly tell its a Battle Rifle also because of the triangles on it starting from the back to the gun going to the scope. compare it to the Halo 3 BR and see. And the design of it is clearly BR like.

And ofc its not the same but its most likely a prototype. Since its a prequel.

It is a "variant" of the "battle rifle". The same argument can go with Halo 1 and 3. Looking at the MA5B and MA5C, they both are "assault rifles", but they are not the same gun. "Battle rifle" is too general when you're comparing Halo 2's and 3's variant with the Reach variant.
