Odds are this new rifle is taking the place of Halo 2 and 3's Battle Rifle. How is this argument still going on? Halo's weapons all have a designated role in the arsenal for both the UNSC and Covenant.

i have a feeling its a prototype of the br55, since there was one in fall of reach, and this looks like it.
just an opinion though.

Whatever it is called, who cares? Haha I think the people calling it a BR are saying it's the 'Halo:Reach Battle Rifle' sorta like the Halo 1 Pistol it's going to be the new go to gun.

I COMPLETELY AGREE YUP. Sure it may look like a battle rifle, but we all know that it spews out rockets mhmm.

Look at the Halo weapon sets... can you see a weapon which looks really similar, but is completely different? Nope.

I am sure Bungie will make it look nothing like the battle rifle if it was not...

It would be the only way you could four shot some kids.

And just because something looks like another thing does not mean that it is that thing.
Take butter and margarin for example.
They both look the same but they are completely different.

They are more or less the same weapon, they both look exactly like the Assault Rifle, size may change slightly, but they look the flucking same... They are both automatic assault rifles. From what I can read as one of them has no image.

I posted an image to the design from the Art of Halo 3 book which looks more or less the same as the image from the trailer... and that was a battle rifle... why are some of you some dim minded.

The AK-47 and AK-74 are two different guns, but they have the same details, same shape, same magazine, and the same grips. They both even start with AK...

OOH. Well anyways i was also reading on there and do you think they will have the MA5k on there since it was out for the spartan 3 project and thats what these spartans are. I'm not positive but i guess we will have to see in spring 2010 when the beta comes out

Well if you watched the IGN Rewind of the trailer the numbers of the spartans (For the ones that were legible) were above like 200 something which are the spartan 3's. Unless they aren't then i can be wrong. But also they are also coming out with more videos/ a new video during january. So we can wait to see what thats about.
