Bungie uses draft weapon models for concept art since thats not the focus, even halo 3 odst concept art has primitive model weapons
it's just a socom, but thats not the point, it's about flood. im sure bungie didnt intended to predict the future, nor did the care about odst back before halo 1 |

eh they kinda did predict the future for there games because when they were thinking about making ODST they were probally like "wait what was that pistol we dropped from H1".
