Yeah if MC tried to play dead this is what would happen.
1) massive amount of plasma fired at chiefs "dead" body
2) To be sure he's dead elite would probally stab chief with plasma sword and then chop his head off with said plasma sword.
3) Then just because they fear the "demon" so much and want to make sure he really is dead they use 50 active plasma grenades and stick them to chiefs headless corpse.

this demon is hated by the prophets aswell, your unique, i dont think they would "pass by" thats the whole idea of not being able to pass out

Try playing on Legendary. Grunts always want John's helmet. Oh yeah and thanks for pointing that detail out. Why not make him run across a crumbling rock bridge which collapses as he crosses? You have a reason to faint.
