It came from Halo 3: ODST. That inspired me to make one, which inspired onotix and l0d3x to make one. Then many other people were like, wow, this looks easy! I'll make one! So they tried. Not most of them succeeded. All of ours have a special twist that defines our own. Mine has the pause menu, L0d3x has the larger city + better gameplay, and Polamee has the innovative enemy counting system.

This is where I will post my WIPs for TMAP (made in partnership with Bo and Mythril)

For those unfamiliar with the concept, To Mock a Prophet is a sort of gametype where you are in an area, and a 2 minute timer starts on your HUD. Hordes of enemies will charge at you, and your goal is to kill as many as you can before time is up. Once time is up, the enemies disappear, the HUD displays the number of enemies killed and what reward you receive for that.

Gameplay/Level Flow:

The player starts in a crashed pelican. Your objective is to assassinate the prophet, and a fleet of pelicans were sent, but they were shot down by Covenant AA and you are the sole survivor. Soon, the 2 minute Grunt round starts. Rewards for Grunt round will be human weapons.

This takes place on the exterior of TnR. He moves up the plateua, where the 2 min Jackal round starts. Then he sneaks into a phantom just as it takes off for High Charity.

Small cutscene starts, showing the council chamber on High Charity. Inside is a prophet giving some speech about how the humans must be destroyed. A Zealot then marches out of the council room, followed by 2 Ultras and 8 SpecOps.
Then, the camera cuts to a phantom as it lands on one of the landing pads (see above). The player sneaks out, and proceeds into High Charity. Then, to the right and left platforms, hordes of Elites rush in as the 2 minute Elite round starts. Rewards for this round will be Covenant weapons of power.

Once the 2 minutes end, a Banshee will fly over and land near the player, and a Zealot will climb out. Once he is obliterated, the player will get into the Banshee, and a cutscene will start showing him flying onto the ledge outside the council chamber. Once he is there, the ultimate 2 minute round will start, as Grunts, Jackals and Honor Guards attack you from all sides as well as the prophet.

If you don't kill the prophet in 2 minutes, an additional cutscene will show reinforcement guards coming in and killing you. If you kill him within two minutes, your objective is accomplished and you'll have to escape High Charity.

Weapons and stuff:

-I'll be using a custom weapon set. More updates later, I'm still finding tags.

-Doan's Grunt and Jackal, and BP's Elite and Heretics.

-Custom BSPs for High Charity (obviously)

-Mythril for being the BSP designer of this project, oh and the awesome particles
- Advancebo for the ripped Halo 2 High Charity
- Tuaha for skinning weapons (which is in progress)
- Gamma927 for critiscm, support, and providing me with the idea of having a unique map.
- Some other guys - remind me if I forgot you, unless you happen to be Jacknme.

why would you fight heretics? They know the great journey and everything is fake and know the humans aren't demons or devils. If anything they should be your allies (that would be cool btw).Just sayin'.

(off-topic) I'm so glad the flood age/trend is over!(warning:my opinion!)The flood get so annoying after a while.(I warned You!)

but if they know humans aren't bad why would they fight them?blood lust?...or maybe the people attacked first so they fought back in self defense...seriously though...they would make great allies. (rebels would be a factor that fights against both sides,if you take the time to make a rebel skin, put on a marine, make a tuby metal tent thingy (I think it's called a bunker) and put a red fist on it.

Mkay...updates. Not much to say, but I want to talk about the Heretics. After you kill the prophet, High Charity will shake and soon after, Heretic Banshees will land on the platform, and Heretics will attack the Covenant. You're supposed to enter one of the Heretic Banshees to escape.

@warchieftian: Never really like Doomed Assault, I quit it 4 months ago. =|

Quote: By putting in this anti-cheat script you have lost 1 point from what I vote the map, unless of course you make it easy enough to be done without cheats. That hardly ever happens though, because map developers tend to be idiots when it comes to the difficulty of the level: [rage]I CANT KILL 5 DARN ELITES AT THE SAME TIME WITH A PLASMA PISTOL![/rage]

Um....

The map will most likely be playable without cheats for the average gamer, but if you insist on using cheats, I'll implement a system where a code is typed into dev that disables the anti-cheat script. I can then give those who demand cheats the code.

Then you might as well not implement the anti-cheat system...

Oh and i take it that this is not a never ending map?

And since it ends, I suggest maybe making the final battle/wave a very difficult and epic one, or maybe even a boss? o.0 I CAN HAZ GRAVEMIND

And how about using the heretics as THE ultimate reinforcements, maybe making them only drop in with their banshees in the middle of the last and most difficult wave.

this would make the map more popular :)

Did you read the first post? The boss will be a prophet.

Still waiting for Myth to finish the BSPs, hopefully he;ll get it done soon. BP is finishing off Heretics. Expect a major update soon. Hopefully, I won't add this to the pile of 'SPs I lost inspiration for', which include Doomed Asssault, Demise, and others you have never heard of and never will.

I'm still free to receive tags or suggestions, PM me if you would like to contribute in any way.

I don't believe the Monitor said humans were Forerunner descendants. To the Heretics, at least.

Don't stick with the classic theme, don't stick with the H3 theme, and definitely don't stick with the imperfect theme.

how bout that big guy for a boss

...ummm...the heretics don't need to know the humans are the forrunners to be their allies.the elites didn't know that in halo 3.and the heretics were in basically the same situation as the elites,a flood army, the lieing prophets leading the covenant,I'm pretty sure they wouldn't fight people.but do what you want,I guess the story is far enough off of the halo storyline (because of the fact masterchief went to high charity after killing regret and ripped a flood infection from mercy's neck basically slitting his throat.but you already knew that of course.wow I'm so bored I can't stop typing.

script continuous cheatquit)
(if (cheat_infinite_ammo) 1))
(then (quit))

or something of that sorts. I do know there is a dev command "quit"

Nades are Mythril's.

And, as for teh script, when a cheat is used, it loads the map (which is SP) as a MP map, resulting in CRASH.

May be alittle late but can't you just use (crash "") ?

Just make heretics neutral allies, or even enemies, but they concentrate on attacking covenant first if both the chief and covenant are present.

Energy sword?

If so then I prefer it doesn't lunge, just 1 hit kill but like a regular melee styled would be much better for gameplay

Um..I have no need for a sword that you can pick up, since:

a) Lunging and general sword effects don't work well in Halo Custom Edition.
b) Its tagspace consuming, and tagspace isn't something I have a lot of.

Can you make it like Halo 2, wherein you could board the Prophet's grav throne, but you could also kill him with a rocket launcher?

I think San 'Shyuum are physically weak, which is why they have grav thrones.

Not all of them use gravity thrones. The gravity thrones are a symbol of power. And I was referring to the prophet in his map, because he doesn't have a gravity throne.

I can rip tags from Sanctuary, I just need to re-organise them, which I currently am doing. I might or might not use the tags, have a vote.

As for the grav chair, I don't have one.
