I have this idea for a COD format , but halo styled HUD.
Radar on top right handside of screen , grenade and ammo meters at bottom left and right of screens , sheild meter on left hand side (Middle) portion.
Something like :

Have you made a H1 Hud? A H2 Hud? A Marathon Hud? The Pre Halo Hud?

Halo series, marathon isn't one of it.

I don't know how the pre-halo series work so i can't work on it, same like ODST, i only started working on it when i saw gameplay vid showing the hud in action.

H1 hud, dude don't make me laugh.

H2 hud, yes I made one, uses h1 ammo meters, but it looks fine for the rest. and even though, it's been released on this site, so i can add to my own hud, i won't use it anymore though.

So HUD's I got: H1, H2, H3 Spartan - Elite - Oracle - ODST
non halo related HUDs: CoD 4, FEAR 2.

Halo and CoD are entirely different, I don't know which cod you mean, but mixing it up is not a good idea... unless you mean just the vital things like a grenade icon etc
I made one but I still like the halo feel... Maybe wait till Modern Warfare 2 comes out, it promises alot more features, prolly a better hud too. hopefully like GRAW bolded =3

I like it but meh, it's CMT's HUD, they use it in SPv2 =/

the idea of making it bold is nice though, every hud is bold in most games nowadays, FPS that is

It's curved Halo-3 style.

A visor is Bold, I meant the same and you know that =/

That, and the thick line stops a few mm off the edge only leaving the thing line, I have eye for details =P


Finally got a bit of my darn lazy thing and made every ammo meter, but i yet have to set them all up.
However I've also finally set the bitmaps up I had some time already





By bitmaps I mean these ammo indicators for grenades and guns, just to say the obvious =P

Halo does not render at 16:9. Your bitmap will be shrunken to 640x480 and then stretched to fit your screen.
Within the Halo 1 engine, you will see no difference between a 16:9 HUD overlay and a 4:3 HUD overlay.

Im curious,
has anyone here managed to make it, so when you die, you can flip through different plays with a simple click of the mouse?
Like in halo 3.

No. I don't think you can do anything when you're dead. If you could, then I could write a script, but I can't make it work when you're dead.

it's already like that when you die.

make 10 teamkills without getting banned, and then die. during the time you have to wait to respawn you'll get a chasecam.

not sure if you can swap between players though.

thing is, you have to wait some time before you get chasecam, thus teamkilling to make your spawn longer

Well I figured out how you guys can move the reticle and the bullet impact point down. Just gotta look into a few more things for you.

Moving the firing offset and reticule is both simple.

I did it before, noone noticed?

Anyways, I measured it by hand to get the correct height, perfect to h3 now, the firing offset is also perfect, but only if it fires from camera. if it fires from gun origins it aims towards it making it angle the wrong way at a certain distance.

auto aim is not vital, merely usefull. and no, it doesn't mess it up.

and whatever you guys wanna do, i just showed you i did it, that's all, i'm a machinima freak, i wouldnt care less even if it shot bullets out of your ass, i'm using weapon origins in movies.

Do you even know what the autoaim does? What do you think makes it so much harder to shoot with an unzoomed sniper compared to another gun. Do the bullets when you change the offsets still go to location 0, 0 when fired?

Not for my carbine, it would shoot just under the reticle, meaning it would not hit square on the middle of the reticle.

I have auto aim values off so that it hits right in the reticule, live with it, or find another way, which you prolly did since you have such an attitude to me :U

means i dont give a shiz about how it plays, if it looks fine it works well enough for me.

I just go for looks. Bare with the lack of autoaim, it's a fair tradeoff for a more genuine experience to me, apart from the RIDICULOUS autoaim values used in halo 3.
