Ok, i've got a question about max. I have a flat panel, and i'm trying to put edges into it so i can put some detail into it. How would i put edges into one flat panel?

Use the "Slice Plane" tool. It is under Edit geometry on the modifier panel. Click on the slice plane button then position the yellow outline just like you would a plane and click "Slice". Note: the faces you wish to add edges to MUST be selected in order to be "cut" by the tool.

Don't forget to weld your vertices back after slicing.
select verts (all) weld / to 0.1 all verts
