is there a way for hek+ to work on vista?

It works fine for me, but I kinda remember an error with hek.. and vista..

when i extract tags they don't go into the folder tags when i extarcat.

Ah, my child, enter the world of virtual store. The file IS in that folder and it's compatible with tool, but you cant see it in windows exporer. Just go open it with guerilla, it will show up there.

ok i found the tags but how come everytime i try to add them into hek it crashes?

With Vista, it's just easier to set the Halo Custom Edition folder to have full access by normal users. On the security tab in properties.

Even though your the admin, your still technically running as a normal user, and that's why the admin thing pops up on some stuff. Any program that does not ask to run as admin runs as a normal user. And running as a normal user, it cannot modify certain stuff. Unless you set normal users to full control.

If Sapien crashes, then they're corrupted. If it gives you the Bungie programmer error, then you're missing tags.

Every time i open sapien, it stops responding and i need to use the task manager to close it. is there a way to correct this? ( i also have a 64bit vista if that makes a difference.)

You're supposed to wait. A few hours if necessary.

64bit vista yes it matters nothing you are running is 64 bit just install the 32 bit os and kiss your problums goodbuy!

You are running vista? you need to set sapien to use only 1 processor. set affinity to 1 or 0 or run in a compatibility mode.

look in your halo ce root directory for debug.txt, paste the last paragraph here.

This is HEK+ not Sapien.

ok i got everything to work very well. but when i ripped the bulldog from chornopils and i tried to put it in my blood gulch varient it crashed sapien right when i tried adding. so is it messed up?

i don't have a debug.txt but some one told me how to make one but i forgot how too.

What do you mean "I don't have a debug.txt"? It's installed with HEK. Did you delete it?

Even if you delete it, I'm pretty sure it just remakes it. Open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\ and look there for debug or debug.txt if you have hide file extensions off.

ok i couldn't find it but some one told me i could just make an empty .txt file name it debug and save it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\ it would work. after i did that i looked at it and it was still balank.
