To get back to the original topic, no I don't believe Dennis has a degree in either of those field. iirc, he just has a business degree and/or computer science or similar.

Dennis Powers

Before starting UXB Internet, Dennis Powers was responsible for the Internet strategy for the Edwards Signaling division of the SPX Corporation. Prior to the SPX acquisition of The General Signal Corporation he was in charge of the web site deployment for all ten units of the EGS Electrical Group. With over 25 years of experience in electronic design, manufacturing management, service and marketing, Dennis brings a unique and practical perspective to the Internet business.

“I’ve been working with computers and telecommunications since the early seventies. I started my first BBS (Bulletin Board System) in 1985 so it was only logical that I embraced the power of the Internet. Sure the ‘net can be cool and innovative, but when you decide to make it part of your business model you need to ask yourself why you want this web site. What is its purpose? What are the benefits? Are you going to get what you need from this investment? After all the goal is not to have a web site, the goal is to grow your business.”

srry if there are some spellng mistakes but this is denni's life story

dennis was born in soviet russin in 1959 exactly 50 years ago, he was just a todler durring ww2 when the russian army recruited him as a sniper, dennis was firce and got 3 killing sprees an over kill and a double kill for this he was honored in most russian history books. dennis went to elemnery and middle school before he droped out and became a hat vender at the age of 15. at the age of 18 dennis became very sucesfull and was contacted by alsakan eskimos to sell his hats there. dennis latter joined the US army and fought in the veitnam war were he was a sniper and recived a metal of honor. affter that he moved to were ever he lived and continued selling hat but not a sucsesfull. but one day while siting with his hats he got the idea of halomaps and started it were many people posted there halo maps and spamed the site and now dennis is 50 and still running halomaps and making comics the end

I would make this my signature at Modacity, but unfortunately I already have your statement of how Halo CE is a game not a competition.

Wow.
Powers?
But anyway what made Dennis want to start a website on Halo CE map making out of all things? In hind sight, it was a good idea(seeing as how many visitors visit the site each day) ,but what made him want to start a Halo mapping site? Im sure not many of his freinds were like; " Oh man how come I didnt think of that before!?" What Im really asking is ;whether or not it was a business idea or a hobby?

uhh, nobody is "teasing" him.

im 31.

Aging is a fact of life, and as a person becomes older he/she should learn and become wiser(thus making younger people seem somewhat dumb/naive)
Aging is nothing to be ashamed of and neither is having a hobby of enjoying computers/video games or things of that nature.

The part about younger people being dumb/naive, i certainly do not direct that as a general statement toward either users here or modacity (the only forums i visit often), as a lot of you guys are way smarter than i was as a teenager and continue to amaze me.

Dennis is not a robot. Robots do not have a sense of humor, which Dennis does, so he cannot possibly be a robot.

However, I can say for a fact that Aloysius is a robot.

What Im really asking is ;whether or not it was a business idea or a hobby?
It is never a good business idea to start a website that costs you more money than it could possiby earn. Only a hobby could (un)reasonably justify the expense.

I always have the idea you use the site sortove like something you would use in a portfolio.
