Business people who want business related websites NEVER consider a game website as a serious one. As a part of the portfolio it does more harm than good.

I used to think Dennis was a rocket scientist who was over 9000 years old and his best friend was Fred Flinstones...

1: Who cares about dennis's background, he's human aswell, maybe an old one, but he's a moderator here. not all his posts are nice, he's mean between the lines aswell if you people can read, it's not like he's a god, he's just another user with more buttons on this page when he logs in.

2: age does matter, it's called experience, and with all those little kiddies running around here, it also means school, and most of these here just got to high school

3: this site can be a hobby, but it could aswell be your bussiness, but this site is not meant for it, you can do so but you'd have to look at a whole different way at it and with a different goal than just hosting free maps and a free forum for kids

4: the fact that dennis got those neatly formed posts is because he doesn't blurt all around and takes time to make one, he actually cares about his posts instead of every usual member that just has to spit his gal no matter how and hope that his point becomes clear

I don't care about my posts, it's just another method to share ideas, and i prefer live contacts but timezones are making a forum like this a must.

the fact that there are not so much other forums like this, is because THIS site exists, i've made a load of simelar sites like this myself, but eventually this site prevails because it has one advantage: it's well known and exists for a long time already

so i don't get it why everyone thinks dennis is special, he's just like everyone, just interested in technology and now an aged man who likes to spend his days with the kids 'round here

Only if your business is spending more money than you could ever earn from it. You guys think that because I have Google ads on the website I am making all kinds of money. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

I was willing to spend only so much cash on the website in bandwidth and overall costs and the Google ads don't even come close to covering even a tenth of what the website costs to run. All they let me do is do more with what I was originally willing to spend. And that takes no account for my time. A business based on hosting Halo CE maps? Give me a break. That’s the kind of thinking that created the Internet bubble not so long ago and look how that turned out.

i dont think halo ce would as big as it is today or live as long as it does until now

because now most people get all of their maps at 1 main site (halomaps)

if we didnt had halomaps

you would have been searching filefront or other similar sites for downloads

everybody would be trying to mod pc and trial if this site wasn't here

If people actually expanded their vocabulary, then other people who use it don't sound as smart. I just choose not to use that vocabulary so I don't confuse the illiterate people.

Second question what the hell made you think up of hosting a website for a game/modding tools that gearbox released? Was halo custom edition and the hek already out when you made the site? Or did you accept on offer from them or somthing?

The first pic of the geek (in a complimentary way) is, in-fact, Dennis Powers.

He likes to play games, especially Halo: Custom Edition, and wanted a place where creators and players could share and play maps and mods for Halo: CE. Unfortunately, he looses more money than most people do in a year hosting this site.

Oh, and when I get the chance, I'll donate, Mr. Admin. I don't have any spare cash that I don't have saved for my hobby atm. Later this Summer when I get a job I'll have some on me.

That's not fair that he looses a ton of money hosting the site. We should all donate money to him, even if it is a small amount,it can still help.We should all seriously help him out by, donating.It will help it him pay his taxes and bills and pay for the site!So lets all pull together and donate to halomaps to help him pay for the site and so it can stay up even longer since are economy (most of us) is in a recession. (can't remember if it is in a recession or a depression. lol)
