Sandbox now has 2 budgets. The second is called OLN (Which is short for Outdoor Living Network). Basically the map can only have a curtain amount of "Unique" objects. Once OLN is full you no longer are allowed to place anymore objects. Even if your first budget has room, once OLN budget is full you cannot place anything else.

K you lost me at OLN :P

"Outdoor living network" is a reference Bungie used as a joke with the same abbreviation. OLN actually stands for "Object Limit Number":

Quote: Got it? Good. But there's another budget you might have to consider when you build your Sandbox map: the Object Limit Number. We'll call it the OLN from here on out in this update (please don't sue us, Outdoor Living Network).

I didn't even see what he said initially, or what this was supposed to mean.

But, uh, okay.

Mmkay. That confirms that the speculation of changing scenery is indeed false; I'm honestly not surprised. As nice of an idea as it sounds, it'd be too complex, and I really don't even think Halo could support it...

But I'm not really excited about that OLN thing. I'm actually rather disappointed they decided to throw in a new way to limit us, because that'll make it even more difficult to accomplish things...

But I'm sure just like how people found a way to glitch the budget to have unlimited money, someone will find a way to glitch the OLN. There's always a way to break the game.

Also, fun fact. Very first post, drag&drop the image to the address bar so that it opens the full image. Zoom in on the very center platform in the map, above the orange line going across the map... That's the overshield. Just in case there was even a single person believing that the glowing red ball was the overshield; that proves it's not, hands down.

Can't believe I never saw it until now either.

Instead of soccer balls, you get golf balls. The actual club has nothing to do with it.

8 7-WOOD $2**
18 TIN CUP $2**
9 GOLF BALL $4**

Golfing course map anyone?

The Final Word

* Use it or Lose It - You have 640 total objects at your disposal, including the objects Bungie's designers have placed on the map in it's default layout.
* Don't Canvas - Instead of making a blank slate by deleting all the objects, simply move them to the side while you build and you'll be in control of the full 640 objects.

I think the objects already placed by Bungie dont count toward the cash limit in Sandbox. But they do when you delete them, and have to put them back on the map.

Pretty sure ONL has been there from the start. These are just maps with new forge objects, they have never changed forge it'self.

I don't. I prefer to /break/ limits. I don't like having something capable of holding me back in any way, I want to defy every type of restriction I can... [I've been known to actually try to defy the laws of gravity, and even time; only succeeded in the latter once, and that's something a lot of people do.]

'sides, the limits aren't any different after all:

Thanks. That pretty much tells me that there's no /new/ limits whatsoever. We aren't restricted any more than we were previously. We truthfully run out of money sooner than we use up the 640 objects, so the "Unlimited Money" glitch will still come in handy after all, and this map will still be absolutely wonderful...

Looking forward to it.

They said it is possible to use all 640 objects without using up all your money. You have to use the objects already placed by default, as they are not counted towards the budget. So if you delete all the objects, then they would be part of the budget.

Yes, but they also implied that the 640 object limit was already in effect. I use Forge constantly and have /never/ hit that limit, I run out of money sooner every time. The only way it would be possible to hit is by spending everything that's really low-cost instead...

It is possible, but unlikely. I'm not counting on it.

It's called emphasis. I've never had a complaint about it before, perhaps because everyone uses some form of emphasis. Be it like -this-, like _this_, like this, like this, like this, whatever. I just use the slash key. I've been asked to use another method; but in all honesty, why should I? It's a manner of speaking; that's like asking someone to stop talking with a specific accent.

Edit:
Also, yes; it was like this in the other maps. That's what they said. The OLN isn't really a new feature, they just decided to announce it now because it /could/ come up in Forge now with Sandtrap. I agree though, I think that deleting it to a blank canvas /should/ add to your OLN limit; it doesn't to the budget at all, never has, but there's the unlimited money glitch anyway, so it's fine.

I honestly had a severe hatrid for their maps. I thought they were pieces of crap.

But, I rarely play Halo 3 anymore, because I am fed up with the matchmaking on it.

Yeah, its called the Crypt. Its pretty much an enclosed area of Sandbox, with a chute leading from the main level of Sandbox. That makes 3 levels of Sandbox, the ground, the sky bubble, and the crypt.

They did this so you do not have to make a whole wall, like in Foundry.

The chute is in the middle of Sandbox main level.
