Just figured it out a few months ago. They like shrink and fall apart and stuff, and they just hang limply from the neck. And... yeah...

The combat form doesn't need the head anymore, so the infection form pushes up out of its chest to poke its feelers/sensors out. The head just kinda atrophies and rots and stuff and ends up hanging there.

Well your neck attaches to your chest and.... I dunno. Stuff gets moved around when you've got a spider monster crawling through your guts. o.o

For the creators, which floods will be used for this monumental project?

The Halo 1 varients with armoured shoved on that Koo and I designed will be used. (First and third pictures, one's on the left). Along with the normal Flood (unarmoured) originally used.

Quote: --- Original message by: darknesssamurai
H3 FL ELT
H3 Style FL ELT
BeachParty FL ELT armored

The one on the far left isn't BeachParty's. It's a combination of the original model with Halo 2 elite armour mashed on designed by Koo and I.

Quote: --- Original message by: darknesssamurai
FL ELT Halo 1
BLUE FL ELT Armored
REG FL ELT Armored

BeachParty's ripped Halo 2 biped is here on the left, it has been rigged like an elite. We won't be using this biped in the final version, we will be using a version of the one on the left in the first picture with some texture edits to make the armour seem more like the Halo 2 biped's armour.

Quote: --- Original message by: darknesssamurai
FL HUM Halo 1
FL HUM Armored
FL HUM Armored CMT

Again, we'll be using the biped on the left with possibly some texture edits.

The poppers and flood carriers don't matter as much. Their only
real variance is shaders and the bp floodcarrier biodriver (no legs, explodes).

BP didn't make the flood carrier biodriver. I got the model, Koo rigged it and got it in-game. Right now the only thing we're using that BP made is the HUD and if we continue using the player biped (Halo 2 ripped one).

And we could possibly be using a new infection form model that Koo designed.

I was planning on making a full post detailing our plans for the next month or so, but I decided to jump ahead and nip this on the bud so people don't get the wrong idea about who designed what. I appreciate what BP did for the mod, but I cannot allow the notion to be spread that he designed things that he did not.

A post will be made later discussing our plans for the mod within the next month.

Thanks for answering LW and for the quick update.

I don't think we should be extremely picky about flood sucking and whatnot.

There's very few types and no fully custom flood have been made.
I'm well satisfied with the one's people have put their hard work into so far.

Unlike the master chief models which has like 30+ different MC and more than enough elites to choose from.

I'm pretty sure all that needs to be done is in the bitmap he forgot to change it from compressed with color key transparency to compressed with explicit alpha. Once he does that he just needs to recompile in tool and it'll be goodio. Nothing to get your panties in a bunch over :p

of course I could be wrong...

Hello again everybody, it's been quite a while since our last 'official' update but now that school is over (for now) work on the mod will hopefully be going ahead full steam and will be on the way to be getting finished soon.

In our last update, I showed you some of our new changes and new things that are being implemented into the mod. Sadly, this post wont contain any new pictures or videos. It's more of an informative post.

You see, in about a month's time we'll be releasing a walkthrough/trailer of the mod in action showcasing some of the new changes and additions we've made. While I can't give a specific date, as I said it will be roughly in a month. The video itself will be run-through of StKft with perhaps some clips from other levels too.

Until then, I'll be more active on Halomaps and Moddb and will be answering any question you have pertaining to the mod to the best of my ability. Whether these questions are "What new units are in the mod?" or quite simply "When is the release date?" I'll be attempting to answer them all without hopefully giving away too much information.

One picture? Oh go on then....

WIP and subject to change.

Quick Question: Will there be a few custom BSPs?

As sierra said the post above you does indeed show that there will be.

The new bsps we're trying to do will be for the first level (343 GS) and the second level (Library). Rest of the levels probably won't get any other sort of changes added.

A BSP is more of a collective area. For example, the level b40 is made up of 9 bsps, not including recurring ones. But yes, it is technically possible to replace an existing wall in a bsp with another.

I considered making grunt and jackal flood a long time ago. After looking over the Halo wiki, the wiki basically came to the conclusion that the Flood only use Grunts and Jackals as building blocks for Flood Biomass and Carrier forms. So I decided this would be perhaps the best option to take.

So, long story short, yes we could add them, but we won't be.

Hey Lone, what will the Sentinel Marauders be like? Will they be any different form regular sentinels, or will they change the gameplay encounters?

Also, maybe(maybe) you could add infected hunters or a cluster of infected jackals?

The Marauders are extremely fast and I can tell you even though they have less health than normal sentinels, I find them harder to kill. And yes, they will definitely change gameplay encounters.

As for infected hunters and infected jackals, I'm afraid not. As was being discussed earlier, infected jackals don't fit canon, and infected hunters don't either due to them being made up of several different organisms (worms). That isn't to say the Flood won't have something similar to an infected hunter if all goes to plan.

^ yeah yeah, tank form can't wait.

Actually speaking of which, does it just melee or also have a gun? Is it a regular projectile or does it shoot out infection forms?

I love how the infection forms are so good against hunters, it really gives the game that rock-paper-scissors balance.

The Drinol was supposed to be in Halo 1 as far as I recall, maybe you mean the Juggernaut?

The Jackal idea aint bad, I suppose we might be able to work something out of it.

With the Jackal idea, maybe if you created a kind of biomass ball, basically just a big ball of flood goo that's basically comprised of bodies, it has a main fire that launches a large ball of flood goop at an enemy, it explodes on contact with any surface.
Secondary fire basically creates eggs that, after a while or when shot, release 5-6 infection forms.
It doesn't exactly move, as it falls out of the sky as support for a large scale flood invasion.

Well I had the idea of adding in flood infection pods, much like the secondary fire idea you had. You place them in the level, and if you attack, or the enemies do, they explode much like the carrier. Would make for some interesting traps.

As for the rest of the mod, just finished getting some stuff ready for the trailer/walkthrough. Gonna be a few things shown in the upcoming vid that we haven't shown off yet, at all.
