Honestly, I think this whole thing is pathetic, if you really want to flame BP, then do it somewhere else, I'm sure he'll be quite happy to ignore it.

ON-TOPIC: Been in contact with BP, he's shown me some cool stuff that he's doing for the campaign. But, I'm not going to post pictures, as it might just start you guys off on a random $H!7storm again.

We're getting another rig of the flood fp arms, so we'll be making some progress with the anims aswell.

Nice positive feedback there.

We have our act together, and know exactly what we need to do, just because you're not getting flooded with pictures from us doesn't mean no progress is being made. Kindly think, and read the other posts before posting.

Yes, and the other hand will be used for melee.

for weighting verts, turn on auto key, advance the time, and pose it, bending some or all the joints. This will help you see what needs adjusting. When you've got it right, return the time to zero, select all nodes, then select all keys and hit delete

Because the FP model doesn't permutate?

I was just kinda thinking that you start loosing body parts after your shield is gone, and you have to start using your health bar. The "health pack" could be a calcium deposit, and it could restore broken limbs.

or an arm, which a script detects is equipped. There doesn't appear to be a script command for detecting damaged regions, though

I recall someone saying damaged permutations for a player caused exception... is that the "obvious" reason you're referring to, or just the difficulty involved in working it out?

It doesn't cause an exception, both arms just dissapear from the fp view, and your left with nothing to attack with, and because we disabled the auto melee with the Flood, the melee button doesn't work either. The obvious reason is that if one stray grunt hits you when your shield is down, your pretty much screwed, and we didn't want that to happen in the campaign.

On the note of permutations animations and the such, I'm currently having a problem with the player biped. It seems when the player gets hit when the shield is down the biped plays an animation which stops the player from firing, now this can be extremely annoying when your in most of the encounters in the campaign. I was wondering if anyone knows a solution to this? We probably wont be using the biped we have now as we're making some new ones, but it is still quite annoying when playing through the campaign.

On another note, my sapien seems to be having a problem when creating encounters, it seems to multiply the inputted number of ai to spawn by 2. I've managed to narrow it down to tags I create myself, or already have. But this is extremely annoying, I was wondering if by any chance anyone else has had this happen to them before? Or if there is a way to fix it, that does not require me to re-rip every ai tag I have and get other people to make AI tags for me.

If you've scripted in the (ai_place command, check to see whether you set the encounter to not initially created. I made that mistake quite a few times :/

Wow, i didn't think that would happen. That suggests to me that permutations/regions would work in fp, and if fp had left/right regions with ~damaged permutations, only one arm would be lost at a time in fp as well. I may be wrong of course. But I think this aspect of the flood should be considered since it's all about flood, and flood are all about falling apart :p
The flood's "stand pistol melee" anim is a base animation (jma). The cyborg uses replacement animations for melee, "stand pistol b melee", "stand pistol ne melee", and "stand pistol pp melee". That's probably got something to do with it, and there may also be biped tag issues as well

The flood's h-ping and s-ping animations are base animations, while the cyborg's are overlays.

Couldn't you change the soft-ping and high-ping values in the Camera Tracks subheading in the .biped?

When one arm is destroyed the fp arms stay the same, but if both are destroyed then it dissapears. The reason this happened is because that the Flood lose their gun when their arm is blown off. When I checked that the gun would stay and not fall off, the fp arms did stay.

sounds like something to consider. I had assumed, for no particular reason, those were motion tracker related. Stupid of me, I know, considering the other parameters in that section

Ah, I see. I'll drop that argument then.
Did you set the region damage thresholds in the collision model to zero, uncheck the flags, and delete the ~damaged permutations? (im not positive deleting permutations in guerilla is a good idea, or needed).
or did you fix that already in 3rd person too?

You sir, need to read the "bickering" more carefully. We've accomplished a lot through bickering, and we've decided on what things are good, what are bad, and what things the community would want to drown in a well.

Want my honest awnser? Because this forum cannot handle our progress, it all ends up in flaming and other crap that this topic doesn't need, thus letting us only use this topic for what's needed, not a storage place for the kids' spam here, really, if i post everything i do, this topic would get a lock in no time if it didn't already should have gotten one T_T

Here's an update, if you don't believe me

This is not done and everything will be changed, i already know what has to be done, it's called WIP.
That's what I'm working on and lot's of other stuff, I think only Lone really knows what I'm doing.
ofcourse, it's a WIP, though noone will believe it and the spamming will start, regardless of the fact i'm saying this.
sure, i like to share the progress, but often this just happens in private to avoid spamfests, we're making more progress behind the screens than you might think.
