lol well, remember what cortana said?

They're using our lifepods to get in! We go out and they come in! clever *******...

We can start the campaign in a hooked ship, and start off from there, if someone can make link the BSP's in scenario file and make correct trigger zones to load them, then i'll start making the map how it eventually will be, and make a trailer in HD finally!!! =D
(I don't wanna link them myself because that is the most boring thing to do)

LISTEN: The Campaign starts as the camera coming in from pitch black to the pillar of autumn and then there is a boarding ship docking in. In which you are in then camera goes to your few lights come on doors open and once doors open the game starts.

First: This is "Not" Just a remake of halo 1's campaign. There are new things in it on the covenant's side obviously not for the humans because you played as the humans for 1 year already. Either there will be a Sword that looks like halo 1 and has animations (i personaly dont care if its h2 or h1 animations) or it wont be in game not a big deal!

Second: The game will be tottaly played in 3rd person. If your in 3rd P can you see the animations of the sword?

Third: It's annoying if you dont have to use the trigger or buttom to attack with sword because then it takes no skill at all and in real life it would be alot harder making the having to lock on and swing your self more realistic (don't give me the halo series is not relistic crap).


*NOTE We have someone currently working on cutscenes' for first level but mostly just the very first Cuscene the "intro"


Edit* lol what on earth would be the point in removing the primary trigger? Does it matter if they press f or left click?

what skill? you need to melee when you come close to someone, why shouldn't i slash to kill? skills or not you need to slash, DOT. I guess you mean you bump possed someone and it automatically hits when you get close, that is an AI setting, not something you should worry about if you don't bump possess other AI's, they work that way...

Ok so can you tell me what you resolved the sword to? Also I was saying b4 you and venom wanted to just run into someone to kill them with sword i thought and thats why ive been arguing this whole time. TheDarkAlly is working on a none cheesy animation of the Main intro for the campaign you know the one for the Pillar of Autumn.

It slashes when you want to, that means when you press the button, i would never put in auto fire, that's like aimbot >.>

We're asking too much from TheDarkAlly, as long as he doesn't get overpressured I'm fine, don't let me feel bad by pushing him too much

So, anyone linking the BSP's for me with trigger volumes?



Seriously, I like the banhammer, console wise and gameplay wise =P
You know, once i was like, hammering all people on the grunt golfing map, and then a huge wave of people roll in, and they all started spamming, and i was like, BANHAMMA, woot bang, GONE, god that thing can clean up pretty well!

I have some, but people *coughadvancebocough* would whine if i post examples, because H3MT is so fragile and don't put stuff open sauce, so i won't
or we just won't use a hud, it can fit storywise, plus the hud is on your visor, not in the air, so no hud would be logical too

back to the hammer please, its just so friggin epic, you know, if we had a grunt bday party skull we could even smash those grunt heads apart! =D

okay so, if there is no hud, there is no way to tell if your gonna die. No way to tell how much ammo you have. No way to show enemies. No way to tell where you have to go (waypoint).

Waypoints are not related to the hud, and it's lineair anyways, there is nowhere else you can go then forward
yea the elites didn't have a visor, so they wouldn't have sensors too look how much ammo they have, if it overheats you can't fire, simple
you don't need to know when you die, you're shield explodes when it runs out, so you need to take cover if you see that happening, and it recharches as long as the rings and the sound is hearable, so i don't see why you desperatly need a hud...

So, what is the rest of the team currently doing? I'm almost done with the third person view, this should work, theoretically

why would there not be a HUD for 3rd person? There should still be a crosshair, a shield bar, and your grenades. Though like Beach said it wouldn't be necessary, because in third person you can see when your shield is depleted. I don't know about using human weapons, as showing the ammo for that would be necessary. It wouldn't make sense for that stuff not to be on the screen. It's been decided, the game will be in 3rd person.

HUD is an important key to FPS games.

Also players should be able to see how much ammo they have.
Hmm, I am low on ammo, I want to see how much ammo I have left, so that I can switch to a new weapon. But oh wait, the idiots did not give me a HUD.

ok fine, but don't count on me making it, i don't see any reason why i should make itm i'm working on the flood hud at the moment so i don't have time, i'm compiling some maps now

Cuz the way BP typed his post, it sounds like he did not want an HUD at all.

I don't understand destroyer...if you played first person then it'd feel exactly like being master chief? The point of the 3rd person is to change the game up a little and make you feel as if you are the enemy team. 3rd person view belongs in the game if your going to be someone other than master chief.

Star Wars Battle front is 3rd person unless you choose first which rarly anyone does yet it still has hud wether they had a visor or not. We will have hud wether its covie or not its always nice to know what you amo or shielf charge is anyways.

flood don't need HUD's, there have 1337 h4x0r skilz

err... flood doesn't but covies do? :/ so i'm working on someting totally useless now?

Well fine, if it takes the idea of FPS out, BAM, just one click, and it's gone, no third person, so, now what?

Can't it be vice versa? Couldn't it be 3rd person as main view, and 1st person activated by flashlight.

Also, we could still keep the hud for both 1st person and 3rd person. How would you know what your health is, let alone your shields? However, unless you are willing to do the extra modelling and animating, there will be no FP hands for the player. I don't really see what the big fuss is about.

Ok so this is final.

Sword is going to be you have to click to swing by pressing f right?

Level starts with intro then you play as a Elite (yet to be decided or not idk cause for some reason i must be out of the picture not or im not informed anymore) you are fighting your way to the cyro chamber where you find chief gone already then you head for the bridge and on your way you pass through where the drop pods launch to find chief picking up a marine and throwing him inside and goes in and closes door and you cant get to it b4 he closes door.

That part is being worked on right now the rest of the level is to be worked out just yet.

There are Carbines and other covie weapons but no sword in the Pillar of Autumn level. Third person is how it will start and you can change to 1st person by pressing the light buttom or "Q"

This is what we have so far right?

I was gonna say, for all the people that disagree with 3rd person you switch between 3rd and 1st, 3rd being default.

VMT, everything there is good. there are a few touch ups that could make it interesting, things that other people have mentioned such as when you get to the cryo chamber room you see master chief walking by in the room above it. and yeah what you said about when you turn the corner to where the life pods are you can see master chief already commencing his cut scene animation where he holds his gun with one hand making sure the coast is clear before entering the life pod.

Yeah, I think it's been decided that you play as an Elite, a red one if I'm not mistaken? We decided that there shouldn't be any spec ops covenant yet because there aren't any in that level?

The game shouldn't be dominated by carbines...meaning that the standard Elite weapon should still be the plasma rifle, followed by the needler. You know those Light bluish colored Elites that are always cloaked? There should be uncloaked versions of those Elites that exclusively carry carbines, but save that for a later level, like an outside one. How about that idea?

Not in the first level, but in one of the levels you should get some cloaked elite allies on your team as well now that I think of it.

There were no needlers on the mission. Come to think of it, the only weapons there, were the assault rifle, the pistol, the plasma rifle, the plasma pistol, and the Nuke Launcher. We should just stick to these, if you want a Halo 1 feel.

you're right, there were no Needlers on the Pillar of Autumn were there? Well then we'll keep it so that the only weapons that are in the first level are the ones that are in the real campaign. So no needlers for the first level. I don't know what the nuke launcher is, but I think it's a joke? And we shouldn't concern ourselves with vehicles yet, we must do the first level first!

we have all the info we need about the first level, so I say lets quit yappin on this forum, get moving on it, and post on the forum if there are any other questions.

Agreed^ also vehicles arn't in first level so we really do not have to worry right now. Second elites can drive a warthog better then a ghost probobly since all you do is turn a key push pedal down and turn instead of using hol controlls an crap right? Just making sure!

Elites would rather die than touch a warthog (unless their being run over). We can replace E 419 with a covenant dropship, but we would need to fix animations, and other things.

Instead of just using the pillar of autumn as the base of the level we could use the very last level "the maw" so that the elite could get off the pillar of autumn from being picked up by a phantom or "covenant dropship" and fight to get there because its not like the rest of the ship has no one in it right? if we could use the model from the maw that way that the ship was more open but we could somehow make it more direct route that would be nice.

This is not official remember just an idea.

Please comment.
