I just thought of the least used modeling software....

MilkShape, I used it a long time ago to make some concepts for Sam, the creator of the game Dark-Wind (www.Dark-Wind.com).

[[If you see my account, (my username is: Roadkill), I have been on the game since it was in the Beta.]]

Anyhow, MilkShape is pretty good, its much like 3ds max, and pretty easy to use.

it supplies these formats too:

its an incredible piece of software, and its free. I guess no one has ever heard of it before (on this thread).

Since selling models on turbosquid is illegal if you make them on illegal software, you can make it on MilkShape, export into .3ds or .max and sell them legally!

Its an upside on all parts!

I double checked on that, and "no", sorry, it used to be, but its only $35, and EVERY update, upgrade, literally everything for it afterward (including future stuff) is then free.

The Trial (full version, its just timed, after the time is up, it limits some stuff) is full, so you can get used to it, and then buy it cheap!

I am thinking of getting it, its just as good, and is a lot more flexable than 3Ds Max. it supports games, game engines, actually, it supports a total of 70 formats! As its updated, it will support more. (It supports everything from the Unreal engine, to Half-Life 2, to AutoCAD, to Maya, even 3ds max!)

I think I might get it, it seems worth it.

Cardinal Rules: Violating these rules will get you banned:

1. Do NOT discuss or promote the use of illegally obtained versions of any company's games or software. Anything illegal, even borderline, will be deleted. Any post discussing or suggesting the hacking of any company's software will result in an immediate banning. Any post discussing or suggesting the theft of any software, commercial or otherwise, from any company will result in an immediate banning. Posting links to hacked stolen or cracked software will get you banned. "Jokes" about hacking or stealing may get you banned.

Sorry again Dennis, but this seems the easiest way to deal with it.

milkshape was the original default method for model editing for PC especially since it could import and export .objs. I used it; its ok but it does not have nearly as flexible or user-friendly controls as say 3ds max or gmax may have.
But look it is pretty good for what it is

Bottom line, its VERY compatible, and since I have seen many people say that 10,000 polygons is too many (saying "its a waste" is the same thing), its good to see it was designed for low polygon models.

(It also has a pretty cool name: MilkShape!)

paffle......
