I was thinking, would anyone wanna take part in doing something like H3 Recon? All new BSP's and weapons. Instead of having shields, like one hit kills and what not?

I'd help model, if anyone can tell me how to get 3ds max working on Linux correctly.

Also, make it more then one kill, atleast 3.

Kinda why we make it FOR ce, and not replicate Recon...

True. Ok now, I know it seems like I am getting everyone else to do the work. Quite Honestly I am. I was just wondering if anyone would want to actually do it? Me and nexus were thinking about doing it.

well from what i have seen on the internet, you might be able to use open sauce to let there be dual wielding and other things but aside from that there is this one project that I had found on youtube a few weeks ago and seemed to be pretty good. Im also not sure if anyone remembers it but its the bridge CE or sythopolis project and if I remember corectly it features you playing as a odst? well heres a link to the vid: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aAWy5Lq6Nk8&feature=channel

anyway I was disapointed to find the mod almost abandoned and left there to collect dust. I hope it might be continued or finished in the future because I see great potential in this... I think

That is actually really cool, those ODST bipeds look awesome.

You dont need open sauce to dual wield, it can be done with scripts, its just unable to sync in multplayer uses, it could possibly work in SP

If anything, it would be cool to show a Marines side of the story instead of the ODST because it is already being made for Halo 3. Marines Side of the Story is Custom. I can do Custom Voices for you if you would like. I will do it until I get it perfect too. You don't have to worry either, I am 17 and I will be joining the Marines when I get out. I have been practicing my responses and drills all year. Basic Training begins next year in August.

Although, the next week, I will be at my dads house for Christmas Break, so Recording is kind of disabled there. [Brothers and Sisters being loud, lol]

He means a where you have one pistol and you press a button to dual wield another one. Not dual wields with one weapon.

Its just 1 weapon animated with 2 pistol models to make it look like its dual wielded, its still buggy though.

First thing you will learn: It isn't "basic training". It's "Boot Camp" or "recruit training".

Good luck when you get there. Nothing can prepare you for what you're about to get into, but I can tell you (from my own experience) that being physically fit helps a lot. Specifically, being able to run. Your drill instructors will take care of the rest. Also, practice projecting your voice from your diaphragm instead of your throat. It'll help you sound off more loudly, and you won't lose your voice as easily.

On topic: I'd like to see this. I've been entertaining the thought for a while. If you need voice actors, I could do some.

Would have to get my XFire going again though.

Here is an idea I've been thinking of for the single player. It would be 3 acts that involve 3 brothers.

ACT 1:
-A fleet of pelicans are flying to a city to stop a real big problem that hasn't been decided yet.
-While your flying you see a couple of pelicans get shot down to create a drama effect.
-After they land the player goes about his objectives until he reaches a large tunnel.
-Sometime through this you see drop pods come crashing down in the distance.

ACT 2:
-The player is a survivor from one of the pelicans that where shot down in the opening of the first act.
-After the crash you go through streets and buildings until you regroup with the other pelican crash survivors.
-You all fight your way to meet up with another team outside of a large tunnel and enter it. (the first brothers squad)

ACT 3:
-You play an ODST that was dropped down in a drop pod into the city.
-You accomplish objectives like the other acts until you meet up with 2 squads at the end of a large tunnel.
-From there you go to finish the mission you had at the beginning of the story and eventually only the brothers are left alive and complete it.
-Then the brothers are extracted and fly off into the sunset.

What do you think? Of course i would have to model a who city which wouldn't be too difficult. The only problem would be different buildings. I would simply make many buildings and reuse them. Also to lower poly count I would go through the areas we are not using and delete windows and just put a texture there without an extrusion. Of course the areas that are not being used would have a trigger to kill you when it is entered. This project will require lots of scripting, animating, modeling and tons of other stuff.

It's to give a more cinematic experience. I'm sure you would rather make a map that you play as the master chief that has no story line, no possible insight into the minds of the players, no reason to keep playing. Your map would simply be 2 building scenery, flat terrain with a Halo in the sky and a couple of grunts standing there with fuel rod cannons. I actually try to impress people.

Anyways, The first and second acts would be in the same general area. I would only have to make a section of the city. After the tunnel I could have more of a sky scraper environment. I would like to keep the weapons classic (or maybe a few H2 added) to keep the feel of Halo instead of adding an M16 with an AR.

what about enemies? are we fighting brutes? and if we are will we be making custom or are we using cmt's?
(this is just my opinion but i think the "really big problem" should be saving the master chief when he is captured by the brutes.. you know from the diorama?)
of course that would only work if this is taking place in that time period. when is it taking place?

I'm up for Nexus Halo's idea that sounds like it would actually impress people. But i think we should atleast come up with a little more than that though. I can textutre if anyone wants to but i wont be on at all for the rest of tonight and tomorrow.
