I have added a new feature to the Halo Custom Edition website: User Submitted Map Screenshots. You can now add screenshots to the website for your favorite maps. Once before I tried to get volunteers to help update the website with screenshots of the maps and now that it is easier I am asking again. I am looking for people to take some time and take quality screenshots of the various maps in the file archive. I would prefer dev-mode shots but gameplay shots would be fine to shot off the maps.
There is no registration required just take your screenshots and upload them to the correct map. After upload you will be asked to enter and optional username and an optional caption for each screenshot. All screenshots will be reviewed before being placed on line.
Just navigate to your favorite map and click the “Add New Screenshot” link on the page.
Enjoy… Dennis

Uploaded my desktop picture of Seclusion. This is a really cool feature. If you get anymore time it would be cool to have a way just to look through all the images like pcgameshots.

Quote: --- Original message by: Destroyer i will probably make some screenys when new maps come out, I would really like it if people who want to help loaded some of the older maps and took screenshots of them. I will most likely add screenshts of the new ones, but the older ones will take time. I did a few. Quote: --- Original message by: ODX What should we upload them as? File/picture type or whatever. Like .jpeg, etc. Image formats supported: jpeg, jpg, gif, png, tiff, tif, pcx, bmp, tga All get resized and converted to jpg. Quote: --- Original message by: il Duce Primo it would be cool to have a way just to look through all the images like pcgameshots. click the link on the left main menu that says: Map ScreenShots Quote: --- Original message by: Destroyer ups i think i accidentally uploaded a picture twice, even though there is nothing there i still think i did it wrong ALL images get reviewed before they are placed on-line. This is one of the reasons why. Images will not show up until I approve them. You can also reject an upload at the image preview step.

Are we also able to upload pictures for tags, models, etc.? Would be nice to have screenshots for some of the other files that don't have any pictures to them.

I've added 1 picture for Headlong PB2 and The Silent Photographer. :)
Btw, what's the maximum limit for uploading pictures for a single map? Edited by Tuaha on Nov 14, 2008 at 05:02 AM

p.s prepare for bandwidth rape. I have no clue how you can afford all the hard drive space. Hard drive space is cheap, I have terabytes, and we added more bandwidth to the network a few months ago. Besides the game websites barely saturate a T-1 and our image server is photoshop quality so the images are processed for a mix of size and quality. Those 400-700K png files people like to make get reduced to 30-80K with no noticable quality loss. The image server also handles and converts the TGA format HCE produces for screenshots. It is the file servers that carry the bulk of the bandwidth.

i am willing to take screen shots of lameass box... debug_camera_save debug_camera_load (controls like sapien) make sure you right click on the halo custom edition shortcut properties, in the target, type "-screenshot" after the link without the quotations. camera_control 0 to go back into fp view

Use the middle scroll button to move the camera. and remember DO NOT type: debug_camera save debug_camera load Type: debug_camera_save debug_camera_load And camera_control 1 is for the cinimatic camera.
