I like the yellow, it adds good contrast. Green/blue/turquoise might look more forerunner, but I'll leave that decision up to you. Plan on using this for anything?

I personally like the contrast of the orange/yellow color. Reminds me of some of the inner circuit textures that's used by forerunners here and there.

So I've been working on an assualt rifle.




I'll upload to p3d or something if people want. It's for Installation 01. I'm going to get to making a new ammo counter for it though because it just doesn't look right to me. I might also change the head rest. I haven't unwraped it nor applied smoothing groups. I'm going to model the ammo counter more like the assault rifle concept I found via google (it's for that other cryengine halo thing that hasn't been updated in a year).

it looks like you focused more on placing the textures in the right slot rather than focusing on the appearance as a whole. the elite and needler are the biggest offenders.

I was just talking about the ar ammo counter. The assault rifle as a whole is a merger of many concept arts (mostly the halo reach ones). I just used the Venerance as an example to give a little visualization of how the ammo counter will change. I'm not "stealing" Venerance's work if that's what you mean.

When I import assets, or even make my own, I like to make materials for each asset in max before export. These were shots taken for the facepunch porting thread or to show progress of something to a buddy. If there is a problem, tell me what it is instead of whatever you're currently doing that isn't helping.

It isn't as much as a prequel to Halo 4 as it is the discovery of Installation 03 and the Composer. The mod will indeed fill some gaps that the books cover.

E: I would like to know what is wrong for future renders if possible.

There is some wierd hieght issues in your terrain either from whatever settings used in world machine or the hieghtmap you imported. You can tell becuase alot of the faces are stretched way too much

You can use plugins to still get the base map of the ground. Even if you dont like the output (which you can still change via settings) you cna always get the masks for the base to use to with photoshop editing
