I recommend buying a book off Amazon or something - online tuts can be helpful, but if you want a more consistent, complete learning experience, you'll want to follow something written by a professional and/or teacher.

Good to see you're not dropping that ODST campaign thing, Hiralis. That is, unless this is something completely different.

So many triangles wasted... I really do hope you'll optimize your models before putting them into Halo CE.

polycount routine noob challenge?it looks as though more polygon focus is placed on the smaller details rather than the room itself, making the edges very noticeable. if it's polycount that you're worried about, then LoDs are your friends in terms of the smaller stuff. alternatively, you could make shared texture sets for props and scenery like Planetside 2 to give way for polygons. plenty of games are polygon-heavy in sacrifice of texture space, such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Yes it is the Polycount noob challenge for January, I linked it my original post. You can see a video here with some updated stuff, if you didn't already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWxo9j4Dx5Q Although yes the major thing I saw people talking about on my scene was notably the large rounded pillars which needed more polygons, and they are right. I do use modular textures for some of the assets as well. like it says in the video, theres still some last minute things I'd like to do the scene overall, that may be one of them. Theres some other things in the video you may notice (some flickering of a light that looks unrealistic + the flickering of an object in the background) which has also been taken care of. If you can make that ultra detailed and then bake it for normals n stuff, i'll be more than willing to rig it for you. be sure to do what they did for the arm and put the knee on a pivoting gear though.
