Using that strategy one could create and animate each block in first person (the bobbing and placing animations, I mean) from minecraft, have each block's projectile impact effect place that block, set the maximum projectile travel distance to a minecraft esque range, and even make the scenery destructible with enough damage so blocks could be removed, and you could almost perfectly replicate minecraft's structure building. Pretty interesting. Battlecraft V2 anyone? Edited by Delicon20 on Feb 4, 2014 at 11:14 PM

@Delicon20 I know what I'm doing, bro. I will make a new map, not battlecraft V2 (I would really like to have those tags tho). I only started doing this today out of boredom so there isn't much done yet. Oh and I'm not going to reveal my secret way of achieving this yet >:D My creativity at its best: kewl house. You should definitely use to make one of those gametypes where each team gets a minute or so to build their base before a ctf match, then building is off-limits for the rest of the round. Would be fun.

Hey maniac, I haven't read much on what you plan to do with this ring, but when you are finished, think we could use it for Halo: Composition? (Project K11). We need an HD ring for installation 03.

may I make a suggestion on the ring? Where water and meets an exact edge of the ring it looks like it would just fall off, why not have an area on the very edges of the interior ring meant to look like it has a boundary for the landmasses. Maybe extrude and bevel it so it isn't just a rounded ring that goes flat as flat can be all of a sudden as well. I just think it would make it look sharper (visually not physically. It's too sharp physically )

you could easily model this using multiple models just rotated around a central point like using a frame or a "working axis" (which is the best way to do it). Edited by eliteslasher on Feb 9, 2014 at 05:27 PM

Best shaders for MC's Mark VII (?) armor so far, in my opinion. It's not overly glossy and the visor stands out well like it should. Good work.

That looks great but it doesn't look very forerunner. I'm guessing you're going for a halo 4ish look.

Halo 4 looked like forerunner... Well Halo 4 could be considered a deviation from the examples of Forerunner architecture shown throughout all the other games. So while Halo 4 officially looked like Forerunner, some people might not fully accept it as such due to the drastic differences. I don't fully accept Halo 4's Forerunner aesthetics for these reasons.

This. This right here. I'm not alone! Halo 4's design palette and architecture styling is interesting, for sure, but it just doesn't strike me as Forerunner; only a select few things register as Forerunner, given the established appearances and styles of previous games.

I've never understood the notion that all Forerunner architecture has to be homogeneous.
Halo 4's architecture deviates somewhat from the previous games but it retains enough of the defining characteristics to be easily recognisable as Forerunner.
I'd point out that our own architecture varies depending on the period and civilisation but I suppose there's no point getting too deep into it. Edited by _Btcc22_ on Feb 10, 2014 at 12:58 PM

I agree with BTC.
Even Halo 1 had changing Forerunner architecture throughout the levels, same with Halo 2 as well.
I can see why people can complain about the forerunner in Halo 4 but it dosen't bother me much. What DOES bother me though in that game was including forerunners + prothean fighty things and their weapons. The best thing about Halo was that it let the player use their imagination about that kind of stuff. But in Halo 4 everything is hand fed.

Yes but just as in Stargate Atlantis when they FINALLY got to meet some ancients, it was a necessity. Noone knew exactly that what their look or way of living would be like. Trust me, from a business standpoint, having the Forerunner and Promethean warriors included was a HUGE selling point because they were such a mystery to so many people. Much can be said about putting a real face to that which you know little about.

Thats the point though. They are supposed to be shrouded in mystery, frankly all we really do know about them was the Halo Array and their fight with the Flood. Not a whole lot else was really known.
By letting the player use their imagination allows them also a lot of freeway in what they can do with the forerunners also. By including a living, breathing Forerunner, we see what they truly are and that might not fit some peoples visions. Eg, reading a book, you imagine what everything looks like based on the information given. It then lets the reader/player envision the rest, like what might they be like outside of all this, what they might do and act like, etc.
