gun barely moves for reload anim, make the gun move down as the projectile ejects and come back up as the clip is replaced in the carbine. /advice

Well, just as Delicon said, the gun's movement needs some tweaking. Right now it looks like the carbine goes through five or six keyframes, and if it's not like so, it extremely looks like it is. You need to play around with "mixing" rotational and moving frames when doing a carbine reload (if you're going for an h2\h3 styled one, which seems you are) to get a fluid motion and a smooth feel overall. Also, I'd make the gun "stand more" in the mag-in position, shift+dragging a keyframe as it takes place and editing obviously the copied frame a bit. Well, this is just one method for it. The left hand might be ok for the clip-in, but it goes a bit spazing-weird in the return to origins. As for the return itself, I like the idea, if I got what it is, but still I'd add more recoil of it; the gun should go inward more. I'd suggest using curve editor to make the movement of the gun as smooth as possible. Recoil, also, use it; it would make the clip-out look many times better (ie. the clip goes upward, you would expect the gun to go into the opposite direction).

And now for the origins - well, I'll assume the latest pic is the one with the grunt, as it got the name "origins-3". Nothing much to crit here, I think the gun fills too much of the screen, but that's just my taste. Hope this helps, somehow. Keep it up!

You're right on everything there, still need to fix it. I'm good with the SIG origins, looks good to me (don't look on the other side, stock is folded >_>). I think I'll go with the second though, just because I can see the trigger finger and the safety.

AGLion: I somewhat like the carbine anime but it needs some more work. As he said above there is not a lot of movement(?) and also I noticed that the barrel moves forward when the mag is ejected and back again when the mag is put back in.


That is the FP view I have. I know the image is horrible.

Umm yeah thats about all I have off-hand. Nice guns BTW.

You're getting better. Focus on detailing and making the main body less of a blob. Also, the butt of the gun needs a major overhaul in design (no gun would ever have one like that).

Otherwise, good progress so far, though I like how Skidrow expects a finished product in a WIP thread, like "No texture?" and "Where's the clip?" Obviously, that stuff hasn't been made yet, it's a WIP...

It's been said before, and it's gonna be said again: Lack of gun movement. If you watch the gun, it stays in the same overall vertical position throughout the whole animation. It appears too stiff, and you need to reflect the movement. The return to origin also appears to have some heavy clipping, which needs to be fixed. In your description, you said it's one of the few animations that you like, and I'm pretty sure, as time goes on, this will no longer stay as one of the few animations you like :D

As for the origins, the overall position of the gun is rather... blocking. If you back up (like about eight feet or so), you can tell that the whole bottom quarter of the screen is covered by the gun. If it's a small gun, like Broke's model, move it very far forward. If it's a larger gun, move it to the right and down more. You don't want the tip of the gun to be right up next to the crosshair.

Return to origin was just something like a little 'excuse' because I couldn't figure out how I would make it look nice. I was trying to figure out and literally drawing out how I could make it look like it has more movement, but I couldn't figure it out, so I came up with those animations >.> The hand clipping was something I also couldn't figure out how to fix it. Everytime I did something to try and fix it, it just effed it up even more. BETTER THAN MODELING EVERY. SINGLE. EFFING. TIME

Origins, you're a little late for that one. I figured that out right after I posted it, but I didn't post the new one. I'll post the new one once I get on my other computer.

Looks good other then the fact you should hide the nodes and make it slower. But as you said I guess youtube sped it up.

Move the gun further back before he strikes, and on impact, rotate the wrist slightly back and to the left (VERY SLIGHTLY), and fix the return to origin.
