Quote: --- Original message by: Shade117 pro It makes no sense how the bolt is at the front, or even why this even has a bolt. The SMG is caseless so it doesnt need a bolt to push and eject casings because the smg has none...
Plus, you cant have the bolt at the front, unless the clip feeds into the font (making it very VERY inaccurate unless without a long barrel.)
E: no offense... Its a great concept, but how the gun works is something that should be known at basics before you start concepting....
No offense. Edited by Shade117 pro on Sep 4, 2010 at 07:06 PM I assume you mean charging handle, because no bullet-based firearm can fire without a kind of bolt. You would need to use the charging handle to chamber the new round when using the forward assist is not possible, unless inserting the magazine somehow racks the bolt for you (which I cannot see being possible). The SMG obviously feeds from the front, because you can tell that the bolt is in the front. In 2552, they must have come up with a way to make up for the short barrel. Possibly a different rifling twist, or more enhanced ammunition.

Modacity hates me for 3 posts (of presenting a release) and 30 mns of online time ? alrite. (No answer needed to that)
@antiblood : For a small hint of texturing, apply a metal pattern under your knife's texture, and use eraser tool to make scratches. You can find metal patterns just by searching in google...
Btw, i think it would look better if the black part of the blade would be a bit extruded.or intruded, idk how to say Edited by bourrin33 on Sep 5, 2010 at 09:48 AM

The animation too shows much IW influences, such as the moving foregrip, the return to origin, and the overall gun movement. The few things from Halo that I can see are the base SMG and the lack of a trigger.

The animation too shows much IW influences, such as the moving foregrip, the return to origin, and the overall gun movement. The few things from Halo that I can see are the base SMG and the lack of a trigger. That's quite closed-minded, if you don't mind me saying. Rails, bolt, whatever are all on games such as CS, MoH, all those modern shooter games (if you haven't seen, Broke mods those kinds of games as well). The SMG has ALWAYS had iron sights, it just seems like the sights are more modernized and detailed than the old ones. The charging handle is probably more influenced from the AR, BR, and SR for obvious reasons. I don't see how the animation at all reflects upon MW2. MW's animations are very straightforward and repeats of others (SPAS and Benelli, M4 M16 and ACR) to the point where I think that they just clicked on the Merge Animation button. The SMG animation is quite lively and active contrary to MW's animations. I haven't seen a single MW animation as lively and creative as that SMG animation. However, I can see how the return to origin is influenced (or more similar) to MW2. I didn't notice the foregrip moving though...

No, I know its a MW influence because that's what Broke told me ._. Broke's style is a MW style, but he tried hard to avoid any MW influences in this animation. However, it's ingrained inside of him, as is evident in the foregrip return to origin. The ACR and M16 also have distinctly different animations. Though they have the similar clip pickup, the animations themselves are different. For instance, look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3UP9FpUUFQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJiYZuhIQzUBoth of these were also done by IMBrokeRU. Edited by Gamma927 on Sep 5, 2010 at 04:18 PM

Okay I thought you were pulling MW out of the air >_>.
The M4 and M16 animations being roughly the same is understandable, as they are quite similar weapons. The ACR animation, now that I think about it, is like a cross between the G36c and the M16 animations. I'm sure they did start from scratch on the ACR animation, but it's way too generic for my tastes.
I can think of 10 other ways they could have tackled the ACR animation differently, but why they chose to make an animation that we already see in 2 other guns is beyond me.

It's their style. If people tend to do things a certain way because they like to, then they will. The ACR animation is actually one of my favorites, and it can be argued that they chose to do the ACR a similar fashion as the CoD 4 M16 and M4 because they want to demonstrate how they've changed up their style.
Every animator can think up ten different ways to reload a weapon, but it all comes down to a specific animator to animate the weapon the way THEY want to. For instance, Broke's SMG reload. He could have done it ten different ways, but the reason why he chose the forceful clip off, with him pulling off the clip, was because that was his style. He CHOSE to do it his own way (kind of his own way, as I told him to do a more creative reload rather than the generic Halo reloads :3), because that's the way he likes to do it. Give a man a choice between heaven and hell, and most would choose heaven because that's what they LIKE.

I like the ACR animations as well, but it becomes irritating seeing the same animations within 3 different commonly used guns. It starts to become annoying, and not pleasing to the eye. That's why I brought up the ten different ways thing, because nobody likes to see the same animations being used throughout the game. If they used 3 different animations for M4 M16 ACR, it would be more interesting.

There's always critics. I see and understand your point of the similarity of those animations, but that's your opinion. For instance, I love the ACR animation because it represents how the animators at IW had advanced their style, from the CoD 4 G36C crappy reload and M4 reload to their new style. Broke was heavily influenced by it as well, as evident in his Sig 552, G36C, and ACR animations. Sure you think it's boring, but this is, after all, your opinion, and thus not worth an argument over. Arguments over opinions are the most worthless, because if one is willing to argue their point, it's unlikely that they'll be swayed.

(delicon) Btw im like that because the my post about the model wasnt agressive or insulting, it was an opinion (not advice, since i cant model). well bourrin is a suckup and its true and hes a ripper. He is delaying ASP released maps because of his obsession of trying to rip asp tags. He was alright until he becomes a dickhead and starts thinking hes better than everyone (eventually). Btw im not exploding at him and its not uncalled for. Its just that he has so many flaws that NEED to be pointed out and i think i did that well (in a internet warrior way). I dont like being an internet warrior but delicon is a white knight so i guess what needs to be done, Must be done. E: Btw, i have nothing against brokes model. its great, its just that (me being an individual, like majority of you people) have different opinions, and i said mine. I really like brokes model i never said i didnt so in fact Bourrin took it too far by telling me to shut the fu*k up when i was only doing the necessary, If its posted in a WIP thread, well dont expect you wont get crit or advice (etc, etc...) for the work you have done. Me i wasnt giving advice. I was giving crit but not alot. i cant much about it since i dont know how to model well.
