and fly: what u mean : "the patriot?" Unless im getting the name wrong, Its Big Boss's weapon in MGS series. Edit: Its basiccly an AR -15 mod taht turns it into an Avenger AXE or a Highly portable LMG Edited by FlyAwayNow on Sep 11, 2009 at 02:57 PM Actually it's The Boss' weapon in MGS, Big Boss being Naked Snake, The Boss being The Joy, Snake's Mentor. From the wiki: "The Patriot was a carbine made specially for The Boss, who used it during the Cold War. In-game, the Patriot is described as a modified version of a Colt XM-16E1, with a shortened barrel and the stock removed. It was designed to create a carbine that combined the feel and quick handling of a handgun with the force of a rifle. The relatively light weight meant that the Patriot had a strong recoil, and was notoriously difficult to aim. The fact that The Boss used it one-handed was a testament to her skill (Naked Snake had to use both hands). It used 5.56 x 45mm ammunition and was fitted with a hundred-round drum magazine. It was rumored that the Patriot never ran out of ammo, according to Sigint, because the internal feed mechanism was shaped like an infinity symbol. The blast of the muzzle was said to resemble the sound of a threatened rattlesnake, and that no one who heard the sound would live to tell the tale. The Patriot handles very similarly to the XM16E1; however, it is lighter, slightly silenced, demands less stamina, has infinite ammo, and the front sight and fire selectors have been removed. The Patriot can only be fired on full-automatic mode. While the Patriot does indeed have noticeable recoil, it is strangely lighter than the XM16E1's, the AK-47's, and even the Scorpion's. The already-light recoil can be controlled by crouching or going prone. Naked Snake was given the Patriot after defeating The Boss at Rokovoj Bereg, where he uses it to eliminate her. He carried it with him back to United States, where he laid it upon The Boss's grave in respect. Later, as Big Boss, he would go on to use the Patriot. It's possible that the Patriot he uses is the one he obtained from The Boss, but it could be one of his own procurement, as it has numerous minor differences to the original weapon; most obviously, Big Boss' Patriot has a rail mount on top of the receiver, while the original had a standard M16 carrying handle." Better than your previous work, but you need to work more on implied force. Also, I suggest trying motions that aren't perfect. Add a human touch to your work by throwing in diverse movements. For example, the magazine might not go in perfectly the first time, adding another motion into the animation. Give it a shot, it really does boost the animation's realism and appeal

it doesnt matter how trained you are once the adrenaline(probably didnt spell that right) starts flowing and your hands start fumble a bit. oh and try to not only rotate the hand on the fire because not only will you hand rotate but it will also move backwards. As I posted on YouTube: Too direct, not enough movement, and tbqh, crysis' animations aren't imaginative at all.
Tilt the gun or something, as it doesn't look very interesting.

Yes, but lighting is horrible.
Press 8, and change your background to a gray-ish color. Then go to the tint and ambient and make both of those about the same kind of gray, just in the middle of white and black. Re-render, show it.

the design doesnt make much sense. Based on the location of the eject port the magazine should be inside the handle.

Handle looks really bulky, must be hard to wrap a hand around that, even a Spartan's. Also, I don't like how the cover to the front part of the scope is resting on top of that...thingie, because now an animator can't exactly animate that to move as freely as he could before.

Handle does seem a bit wide. And I did not intend for the cover to rest on the, well, thing. But it can't really go on the side, because it would restrict the view a lot, and if it went the other side you won't see it. And the idea was to add something more interesting to the shape.
