It looks great so far. The grip could require vertical grip indents however. Or perhaps you could implement them within the texture. My favorite part would be the block-out of your receiver the way it interludes down to the magazine and up from the breach is particularly appealing. 1. Thing, before you render in max. Hit "8" on your keyboard click on the black thumbnail then set the rgb values to: red: 68 blue: 68 green: 68 And then render :D

It's a perfect dark grey which I use for everything if I need a black background, never use full black.

I use a grey gradient from black on bottom to white on top, because I'm sure no color will interfere with the render and it slightly reminds of sky gradient.

Looks cool. I would suggest removing the circle on the grip. That detail is redundent when it will be in game, because it will most likely be covered with a hand. I would suggest focusing details that the player will see from the first person view. This can be a great technique and time saver when judging what parts of the gun deserves the most attention.

I actually, died thinking that was the lowpoly model, but it looks to my untrained eyes like something above 10,000 tris~? In any case It looks very good. BTW, you can try ripping the red dot sight from jesses tactical battle rifle, I believe the sight he used was from COD. Just delete the unnecessary pieces when you import the gbx model.

I don't see at one point, on any part of your model that the texture sucks. Pm, me the model there are a few, adjustments to be made but not many. (Spec is a bit high)

Nice work, it's a really fine point to reach between a soft looking model and super hard chisel jawed van damme model.
Think you hit the sweet spot with that scope.

The background is from an HDR that is only there to make the scope glass reflectivity easier to see. Without the reflections looked boring. Plus I think it adds to the overall realness of the picture.

Not really Modelled it off a tutorial references.
I don't have a name for it either.......rail rifle?
It is an energy directed weapon, but I would prefer for it to utilize an automatic firing mechanism which is difficult because the amount of energy dissipated from a rail gun is immense allowing for only single shot use due to the stress's imposed e.t.c
I could say the weapon is less powerful than a normal rail gun but with it's weaker power and multishot status it's still no better than a normal rail gun in the sense that although it fires more rounds, the effectiveness of each round would conclude that both weapons are as powerful as each other.
So essentially some would be go: "Why not just use a rail gun then???"
Need bio help....

Need bio help.... It looks like some sort of railgun, to me. Just because it's a weaker, faster-firing railgun doesn't mean that it's worthless: assault rifles aren't useless even though sniper rifles exist.
